Beautiful Dense Redwoods

This county park is beautiful.

You are surrounded by redwoods with very little sunshine so if you rely on solar this will be a problem. Sites are very clean, fairly level and of varying sizes. We were able to find a spot we fit in with our 26ft RV. I suggest driving around first before picking a spot as some are better than others.  Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and there were water spigots throughout the park.

There is quite a bit of road noise and some construction noise during the day but quieted down at night. There seemed to be a lot of cars coming and going but overall few campers, we wondered if the day use area is a popular hangout spot for the locals. We didn't hear excessive noise though so not sure where everyone was headed.

The various nature trails in the campground were nice to stroll around in, and there was a small creek as well. There is a day use area with horseshoe pits, including horseshoes, and volleyball or badminton grass court with no net and a playground.

While walking along one of the nature trails we noticed tires, hooks and such in the trees that were probably used as a ropes challenge course at some point.

The downside was while walking around this park we saw one trailer that had their sewer line with no cap and a large bucket sitting underneath it to catch the waste, the hosts were blaring music while chopping wood and talking loudly, and there was a rundown camper just parked near the picnic area. These looked to be long term situations but since the sites are fairly secluded it did not bother us. There is one full hook up site for $30/night otherwise $20/night. Self pay, no reservations.

The campgound road was paved but narrow in spots and the paved parking spots at each site varied in length. Bigger rigs would have a problem in this park. It was overall nice and we would stay again.

There are trash bins throughout cutely designed like tree stumps, but no recycling bins. Good cell reception with AT&T, Verizon and T-Moblie.
