Local gem in the redwoods

This is an amazing Grove of redwoods just north of Crescent City on the 101. There's about 50 campsites between the 10th spaces and RV spaces. This park seems to be overlooked by many. Not well advertise not good signage but just a left turn off the 101 northbound. There's only one full hookup spot in the campground. The other thing of major note is that this is such a thick Grove of redwoods that all of the roads through the campground are barely one lane wide and one way. We have a 30-foot travel trailer and it was very difficult to maneuver into or out of the full hookup spot. There are just two or three other spaces that will accommodate a good size rig. Most of the spots would not accommodate more than a 20 ft travel trailer and a vehicle. We really enjoyed this part very quiet and peaceful and towering redwoods! They had quite a few pathways for hiking throughout the small Park but the amazing history that the redwoods told us as we walked through was astounding! Very quiet, very peaceful, very dark and tall Forest. Cool in the shade of all of these Giants. There's also quite a large family Park area in the middle of the Grove with a playground and a large covered area with tables for a party or such. You really feel as if you're far from the world in the middle of this little Grove even though you're just next to the 101 highway. Please note when you make the left turn off the highway on to the (elk valley cross) Google maps will then instruct you to immediately make a left into the park which unfortunately is the one-way exit out of the park. Do not follow Google maps here. Continue past that exit road which has a bunch of wrong Way signs by the way, and continue to the next left (Cunningham Lane) which will take you around the side of the park to the proper entrance. If you like redwoods and shade and quiet this park is for you.
