The price is right

I really enjoyed this free campsite I think it’s a great place to regroup on a road trip. All my camp neighbors were friendly and the bathroom was not to bad. They had flushing toilets so that was nice. If I camp there again I would stay off the main road that takes you to the boat ramp. People went fast and kicked up a lot of dust. Besides that it was a positive experience.

Goodnight sleep

Morgan bar was a nice place to stay the night I loved to hear the river flowing in the background it was very peaceful. There was 2 other people camped so it was quiet. Bring bug spray it was buggy! We had a cute bunny visit our site as well as the camp hosts dog she was very sweet. I will definitely be back.

Don’t follow the dyrts coordinates they are wrong use google.

Simple grassy spot

Simply picked the first loops on the lake. if you want to swim I would suggest camping on the other side. I picked this spot because no one else was around I had the whole loop to myself. Which is what I was looking for. The other side had a lot more people. Maybe not the best place for tents a lot of geese around and their droppings but there was plenty of grass and soft ground. I am not use to seeing a campground not full. I was surprised how easy it was to find open spots must be a Kansas thing. Beautiful sunset and sunrise in early July.

Nice

I stayed here on my first night in Kansas. The campground is nicely tucked away from the Main Highway. The bathrooms were clean and I got a free shower! I got here in the evening and there were plenty of spaces. I think there might have been two other campers. If you’re a bit road weary and need a place to crash I would recommend this spot.

Nostalgic campground

I have camped here most of my childhood it was our favorite place to go. It can be really tough to get a reservation so you need to plan ahead if you are coming in the summer. My favorite time to visit is in late May early June. It’s not to hot and the Christian camp across the lake isn’t completely packed yet. The lake has been pretty low the past 5 years. Hopefully that will change. The sandy beach across from camp is a blast we would swim across or boat across and spend all afternoon climbing the log that has been floating in that lake for 30 plus years. Bathrooms are nice and well kept. And plenty of things to drive and see through Sequoia kings canyon.

Gem

This one fills up fairly quickly I went the first week of May 2019 I showed up around 10am and about 7 spot were open I set up a chair and payed for my spot. When I came back in the afternoon all were filled with many late comers making the rounds. The campground setting is neat with beautiful red rocks surrounding you. Bathrooms were clean and showers were available. Great state park with lots of fun hikes.

Wonderful sunset

Walk ups only no reservation I came into this campground around 4pm on a Friday in July a little worried about finding a spot. When I arrived I was relieved to see more than half of the sites were open. Easy pay system $15 to camp clean bathroom and a shower!! Which you may need if you plan on hiking it gets pretty hot but we enjoyed our shaded picnic table. Nights were cool a must see the caves were magnificent great stop on the 93. Do it!

This place rocks

I loved this campground we showed up in the early afternoon on a Thursday and they had plenty of spots still available. You are completely immersed into the lava landscape at this campground I really enjoyed it. The sites were nice size bathrooms were very clean lots of families and friendly people. A must if you are in Idaho. Note: if you plan to walk through any of the caves you need to visit the visitor center to get a permit.

Peaceful

Wonderful spot most sites were filled but the group area had a few spots with picnic tables left. I opted for 5 a small turnout next to the river. A short walk to probably the cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen. I will definitely camp here again.
