Worked out

The woman who I called and who checked us in was very nice. I even thought about leaving and heading further down the road and she was super cool about it while I went back to my camper to ponder. The bathrooms were clean and the showers worked nicely.

Unfortunately, this isn't a nice place. I was glad there were gates and they were locked at night. It felt pretty sketch. It's pretty rundown and I would only recommend staying here as a last resort. That being said, we stayed in our camper and we were safe.

Great Place

We had a great time overnight here. The pools were super refreshing. There were two, one seemed to naturally be for adults, the other for kids. Don't know if that happens often, but it was nice. Two hot tubs too! After that there was a movie playing across from our camping spot. It wasn't loud or obtrusive so we couldn't hear it in the camper, but I went out and it was fun to go watch. I also got a cheeseburger plate from the food truck place. It was AMAZING. The fries were also insanely good. Everyone was quiet after 10, although some people really light up their rigs and some lights were on all night.

This place IS crowded on the weekends. Lots of families who seemed to be having a great time. We did have an audience while I was backing the camper in, which was kinda sucky. If you're looking for a quiet, secluded get away, this isn't it. But a fun family experience it is.

Clean, nice showers and bathrooms. Lots of rules here, example: only go 5 mph in the park, or a person in a golf cart might give you the business.

Great people, gorgeous views

We had a lovely time here! It was so, so pretty. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. The views are breathtaking. Best site of our visit.

It's a parking lot

There are some shady spots, try to find them in satellite mode. It's got all the hookups, but I'd just a parking lot. 🤷‍♀️ Nice people.

Good for a stop over

Good place for a stopover. Mostly level. The patio sites were much better than the plain sites. Wish we had gotten one of those. Loved the pool! There was a jump pad, and a K9 area.

Okay trail around the side and the back of the campground. My son had fun climbing things. There were old buildings to look at (go in?)

A surprise

The weird - you exit by the fertilizer plant. 😬 Then drive through an RV and Boat storage facility. There might be no one here to greet you and the little office will still be open 🤣 With the AC running. The ice cream bin is plugged in and cold, but there is no ice cream.

The bad - it's a parking lot. It's real hot, no shade. The view to the south is…less than desirable. The WiFi is a little weird, but better after Bob reset the router! Did I mention it's HOT?? Read on for the secret to combat the heat!

The great: you are just above Batise Spring. You can walk down the path and go to the bridge. You are standing over Batise Spring! I got in! Bob said it was 52° and I believe it! But it made me so much more comfortable afterwards. We saw a real cute family coming back from tubing! Basically turn right after the bridge, follow the path and you can get in Portneuf River. They said they got out when they saw "a building" - I'm assuming it's the blue building with a big fenced in area. Scramble out there and walk back on the road. They said it was warmer than the spring. The trail is pretty! The spring on one side, the river on the other. Lots of birds and I saw two muskrats!

Overall it was pretty nice. The trains and the plant noise/smell were not a problem for us. I didn't smell anything weird and I'm really cognizant of those things. Of course our AC was running full blast, so it drowned out a lot of noise. It's a simple place with good hookups. Not the most amazing place you'll ever camp, but an easy stop and some pretty/fun things to do. If you can, stay at the north-most sites. You'll have a view of the spring and the trees vs. other RVs.
