We were the only campers here when we pulled in. Gorgeous pine forest all around, lake view though it’s private so no access. Cute cabins around lake. Super quiet until dark when the elk started their singing! So cool! Absolutely loved it. Spaces are far apart.
I was so impressed with the organized check-in process, efficient simple paperwork, and welcoming feeling I got when we rolled up without a reservation. We were even "escorted" to our spot! There are lots of trees, cows and horses near by and it's super quiet, oh, except for the numerous freight trains than ran through the night. Bring ear plugs, problem solved. The grounds are immaculate; you can tell these people really care about this place. There's a gate to enter and exit so we felt very safe and there weren't random vehicles driving around. Beautiful rolling hills and open wheat fields made for a lovely bike ride. Definitely recommend this place!
This was our 3rd visit as it’s a great spot just outside Portland. All RVs, full hook-ups, nice grounds, well maintained with nicely kept landscaping. We rolled in after hours, office closed but they are so organized, available spots are clearly indicated with specific instructions. Bike into cute town of Troutdale very close. Right on the river. Pricy at $50 per night
We started in the lower campground with wonderful shade and the stream roaring by. Very private with large growth around us. We soon realized we were missing the gorgeous valley view and incoming thunder storm so we packed up and moved our RV up the hill to the upper campground. There, it was very hot, 97 degrees, no shade, but we loved the view. If you have kids, definitely choose lower campground with shade, larger sites and creek close by.
It's super dusty, not too much shade until the sun goes behind the hills but we have camped here in our RV twice because it's so unusual. As the sun comes up the light changes on the rocks and makes for stunning pics. Lots of birds feeding at dusk, very quiet unless you have noisy neighbors. Camp sites are nicely spread out but you must drive very slowly as there is so much dust. Great hike up the ridge and a small nature trail that's easy walked.
