One of my favorite places to visit, camp, and hike!! Its gorgeous Appalachia with hikes ranging from casual strolls to very difficult. This park offers all of the amenities, full hookup if you want it or primitive tent sites, a nice lodge and restaurant, horseback riding, and zip lines!!! One of the camp hosts, Teddy, was super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. I LOVE The Breaks Park!!!
Ft. Desoto Park is a must see when you visit Florida. Its one of the most well preserved areas that feature Florida as it used to be, wild and beautiful. The camp ground is nice and has all of the amenities. Keep your food locked up though as the raccoons are brazen!
This this is a long Winding Road up the mountain that has many nice places to pull over and Camp right off the road. Some are a bit further back than others. Most are accessible to any vehicle. Further on up the mountain you will find the remanence of an old train stop, cabin, train car… It's all free but there's been a fire ban all summer.
This this site offers primitive camping, I do not know if they have hookups or not for campers. It's a very beautiful area! Very desert, Western, with Incredible rock formations throughout. If you're into rock climbing you will love it here! There are many many campsites, but they each seemed private enough. We were there in July and only saw a handful of other campers. I was very pleased to find this place. We'll definitely Camp there again! There are composting toilets, no showers, and no access to River water.
Campground Campground is way up in a mountain, a beautiful drive and itself. The spaces are well-kept and far apart from each other. They also each have a bear proof Locker for your items. The river is just nearby, as are some wonderful hiking trails. There is a composting toilet system, never my favorite thing in the world, but it's as good as they get. I will definitely use this campsite again.
