We chose site A10 right by the Tallulah River. Loved the river right behind us. Only complaint was the sewer hook up went uphill to drain. It drained still but very slowly. Luckily there was some logs by it to help elevate the hose. Bathhouse was clean and the river made it all worthwhile. Super close to the gorge to go hiking in the state park.
Set back in a wooded area on a nice little lake. Boats permitted but max HP is 10. Sights are nice, some closer than others. Bathhouse was taken care of and close to Dausset trails if you Mountainbike. Miles of fun trails that connect to the campground. The Springs were fun with a lot of history. Beware of drinking the spring water. Lots of people bottle it up but if you don’t like sulfur I highly do not recommend even taking a sip. Fun little putt-putt course for the kids in the park. It was a nice getaway.
Very clean, quiet and a view from every spot. If you Mountainbike or hike, do the muddy spokes club trail. Challenging in spots and 4 creek crossing. Lake is crystal clear and huge! Highly recommend this park and plan to return.
Set back in the woods on a beautiful pond. Deer roaming everywhere. A new check in station with a store that’s really really nice. Mountain bike trails and hiking trails inside park. When I have more time we plan to go back and take it all in. Close to the town of Winder for items you forgot. Less than a 3 mile ride.
Great get away for nothing but quietness. No internet, no nothing. Just a peaceful lake escaping reality. Almost every campsite is on the lake but 3 spots.
