Boondocking heaven

We spent 5 glorious days here the week before the 4th of July 2020. There are at least a dozen or so spots along the creek as you wind your way up Green Creek Road. It’s peaceful and secluded. We pulled a 28’ Airstream all the way up with no problems. It’s a little bumpy but easy. No cell signal at all at the camp spot. This was our first boondocking experience and I’m afraid the next time won’t be this great. I hope you will take care of this place if you go. It is special!

Nice, small and mostly quiet campground

We came to the area to boondock but really struggled to find a place along the south fork of the Smith River. It was getting later in the afternoon and we ran upon this sweet, small campground so we decided to stay the weekend and bail on boondocking. The campground is clean and well maintained. It was Labor Day weekend and we were surprised that at least half of the spots were available Friday night. The crowds did come on Saturday and it was a little rowdier than we intended to be in. We ended up leaving a day early mainly because you couldn’t have camp fires, it was crowded and a bit noisy. That said, this is probably a great place to stay off season.
