Great family campground where you can do anything from camp in a tent to rent a bunkhouse.

Energy lake is at land between the lakes but you pay for your site at the gate. You can choose a primitive site, a camper site with utilities, or a bunk house with heat and a/c. You can also rent a canoe or a kayak for the day. There is a private beach and great fishing.

I would recommend energy lake to any type of camper.

This is an excellent campground to get away at. I didn't spend much time in the actual camping area but off in the woods a little ways.

Its a pretty good ways down a gravel rd and definitely worth scouting out a good campsite off to it's self. There are some awesome rocky areas right next to the water to camp at.

Check out what's left of the old foundations while your there. This is on the TN end of Land between the lakes so check in at one of the welcome stations to get a backwoods camping pass.

Birmingham ferry is a good campground for " primitive" camping. there is a picnic table at each sight, a boat ramp, and a couple of places to fish. there are always friendly people at this campground. There are drag boat races here a couple times a year.

Nickel branch is the first campground on the north end of Land between the Lakes. the sites are maintained fairly well. There is a boat ramp, a basic outhouse, and good place to swim or fish. nickel branch offers a place for anyone wanting to tent camp. you can basically throw a tent up where ever you find a spot. I stayed there for a week right next to the water and was pretty well left alone by anyone else in the campground. There are hiking trails, fishing spots and being at the north end; your only about 15 minutes away from the closest store. this area requires a backwoods permit which is available at the north welcome station ( also about 15 minutes away)

not the best place if you like tents and nature. it's a well maintained campground with a private beach, a shower house, washing machines, and a playground. there are golf carts everywhere! this isn't a bad thing if your into that but don't go here thinking you'll be spending your trip among nature. canal is run by the Corp of Engineers. It's really more of an RV park with trees and water than a campground. on the bright side you can drive a golf cart to the local town ( Grand Rivers ) which has some neat stuff to see.

Hillman ferry is a great campground for anyone who wants to be in nature with most of the conveniences of home. there are over 300 camp sites, most are electric/water which are $22 per night, along with several primitive sights that are $12 a night. Hillman ferry offers showers and restrooms at several locations in their campground.There is an archery range, a basketball court, and a playground. the store at the entrance of the campground was really convenient. they offer ice, firewood, candy and ice cream. apparently they will rent camping equipment like lanterns and cast iron cookware as well. overall Hillman ferry has everything to make a comfortable visit. I've always enjoyed backwoods camping until we started bringing our young kids. with that being said; it's also a great place for first time campers. The only down fall is how popular this campground is, holiday weekends can be very crowded.
