Definitely no frills camping but is perfect for stopping to sleep overnight while making your way across CO. As others have said the reservoir is dried up. We rolled in around 9:30pm and it was pretty hard to see where spots were, the first old fire ring and table we found we stopped and set up shop. The grass/trees were extremely over grown so the table was unusable, which was really no big deal for us but just be aware. One other camper arrived after us but the spots are so spread out we didn’t know their location until we were leaving in the morning. Had our three dogs with us, one on the smaller side. There must be a big pack of coyotes nearby because we heard them howling and yapping all night long in very close proximity so we kept our small dog close to us out of caution. Kinda cool to listen to though. Very minimal highway noise, overall quiet and peaceful. No water available, vault toilets on the opposite side of the reservoir we didn’t use. Reason for 4/5 stars is just over overgrown and unkempt it is. Would stop here again if needing a quick overnight.
