All state parks are awesome!

Ricker pond is especially good if you’re looking for a little bit of a less busy state park. Unlike Stillwater this is on its own pond so not as much traffic. It’s a little far from the Groton store though if you run out of something. And if your site is closer to the boat launch you’re gonna be in the muck and weeds. But overall I love it here - we usually get a leanto once a year.

Right on the River

This is a great place to stay for a night or two! It’s right on the white river so you can throw in your kayaks or they offer their “tubin taxi” which gives you tubes and a ride up the river and back once you float down. There are no public bathrooms or water spickets for campers though. Seemed like maybe more of a camper park but still lots of fun!

Tent sites always avaliable!

This campground is great for RVs but I actually prefer to pitch a tent here. There are lots of spots in the back woods and also a couple fields you can reserve if you have a bunch of tents to set up. Plus the owner is always super nice and very accommodating! And always make sure to get a load of wood because it’ll last a couple days if not longer! I come here more than Groton state parks nowadays because they are so expensive and always very booked. I can call the week before and get a spot here, which I love!
