This is a very hyper active KOA. Lots of golf carts and kids on bikes whizzing about.
We stopped on a Friday night on our way back from the UP. Live band until 10. Three pools, a bar and the crowd to boot.
Camp rules including those about barking dogs and excessive noise seem to be simply suggestions and not really enforced.
If you are looking for peace and quiet after a long trip, this is not for you. If you are looking for a camping resort, this is your jam.
This is one of the best camp grounds in the UP. Sites are full service and well spaced out. Several showers with hot water. Can serve as a great base camp for adventures in Pictured Rocks. Cell service is pretty good (Verizon)
Best part about this site is proximity to Lake Superior. Awesome views and sounds of the lake.
Sites are a little cramped and connectivity is bad.
Showers are good but limited.
This is a large park with several surrounding camp grounds. Specifically in Bald Eagle, our spot is one of the best with plenty of shade and space. This camp has water, elec and sewer.
We stayed in the newer section of the park. The bathroom and shower facilities were great. The park is very quiet at night. Good trails to walk. Good cell (Verizon) service. A few negatives - some road noise, our site was really buggy and roads are not the best to get to the camp.
We weren’t sure what to expect given this was our first visit. But overall it was a good experience. Delivery service of food and firewood was great. Trash pickup was appreciated. WiFi reception was a welcomed surprise. Showers and bathrooms were clean. If you go, be sure to reserve one of the sites with the paved patio, pad and provided grill. Very nice. Most importantly, it was very quiet after 9pm when everything closed.
Downside - sites are a little cramped and the pool was very crowded.
The interior sites are a little cramped and may not accommodate larger RVs; however, the access to Lake Michigan more than makes up for it. There is a really cool dog park on the beach. While not something I typically look for in a review, the dump sites are new and excellent.
This is our second time here. Staff is really friendly. It has clean showers and restrooms. The camp store is extensive for a camp ground - ha). The sites are fairly flat. They do have some full service sites, but most are electric and water only. The campground is convenient to the cool little towns in Door County with a number of activities. It is a really good campground to help you shake off the doldrums of the pandemic. One big drawback although no fault of campground is ver poor / intermittent Verizon cell phone service.
We are here on Memorial Day weekend and it is full, but still very quiet. The sites are well maintained including the fire pit areas. Water hookup is back from pad so as others have said, bring the longer water hose. Nearby Siegler Lake and Big Rock Creek in the Big Rock Forest Preserve are picturesque.
This is our favorite local camp ground. The park has electric and water hook ups at all RV sites. Additionally the spots are paved and have nice fire ring area. The prairies are very relaxing to watch and hike through. Most importantly the dump sites, especially in the back of the park, are well maintained and convenient to use. No reservations so be sure to get there early in the week.
