We were lucky and snagged a beautiful private-ish spot. We had a view of the lake and a lush forest.
We only stayed overnight but it was great! It was clean and well organized. The view of Padilla Bay through the trees was nice and there are spots with direct views. The walk down to the beach was lovely. I hope to come back and stay longer.
I really enjoyed this campground and had a beautiful spot (see pics). We originally were assigned #1 and that was literally next to the parking lot. Because of a mix up (a car was parked in our spot) the ranger let us move to site #35. He was really nice! The campground host who greeted us upon arrival was friendly too. We came to this campground with friends on the first summer-weather like weekend. The lake was nice and just a little walk from the campsite. The only drawback and reason for 3 stars is the boulders in front of campsites. If you were in a tent no problem because everything would be on one side. The issue is that they are between the fire pit/picnic table and your rv/trailer! I fell over one in the dark and a camper in a group scratched his leg.
This campground was so unique. The sites along the water didn’t have hookups but they were like your own personal beach! There were lots of fisherman. We had a spot further in the loop with hookups but we had a little view. There is lots to explore here.
It was wonderful waking up to the view of the ocean. We were in site 31. There aren’t water hookups so remember to fill up your tanks when you arrive!
We, in the PNW are lucky that within a short drive there are so many options. This park is really nice. You can’t see the ocean from our spot but the sound is perfect. Westport is fun - shops, breweries and restaurants are all good for time away from the camp (if you want).
This was what I would call perfect winter camping- no rain but chilly. It was like being deep in the forest but with the convenience of a full-hook ups. (Water is shut off in the winter but you can fill your tank at the park. The “tt” sites are just like regular rv park types- field of grass w/ picnic tables. The straight #s are the sites in the forest.
We had a nice time- lovely spot with full hookups. I thought the wooden fences around each campsite was a nice touch!
We had a nice time in spot #29. I am not sure if the creek behind the blackberry bushes is around I. The summer but in December the sound of the rushing water was so relaxing. It was a nice weekend and I feel recharged :)
