The only thing we had an issue with is the day we were there the overflow parking was full and there is no cell service, other then that it was a blast we all had a great time the creek made it really fun for the kids and adults too and the little ghost town at the entrance makes an ideal photo op for the kids and adults too… It truly feels a world away! Super helpful camp host, lots of families and overall a super great time took our cat adventure camping and he even loved it a great place especially with kids !!
We had a blast !! The stars are epic! The beach is close, the place is great !! Can’t wait to go back !!
We went for a day after having camped at Malibu creek state park for the weekend and this was the best part of our trip!! It was so nice ! The camping looked great, we hope to try it next time if we can get a reservation. Had a great time and can’t wait till next time !!
I know the area has been ravaged by fire in recent years but it is truly hot dry and just not very pleasant. Showers are clean, campground is noisy and no campfires even propane which is understandable but people were breaking that rule and cooking and it was very crowded. Sites are super close to each other and the rock pool and creek are closed! It’s close to LA but that’s about it
We love camping at McGill we had a great time camping this Labor Day weekend !! We love the camp hosts Harry and Carey and we were even going to try to squeeze in one more weekend trip here and as we were leaving they shut down all the national forests in California because of the fire dangers currently. We hope they are able to lift the restrictions soon as this awesome campground closes for the winter in November I believe. It is so nice to have cell service and still feel a million miles away !!
Beautiful! The best camp hosts ever! It’s clean and quiet spaces are spacious and we had a wonderful time we will defiantly be back !! A bit off the beaten path but spectacular ! Not a party place at all, and very family oriented! Camp hosts run a tight ship! We felt a world away
