Spots were relatively large. We had a decent sized group and many BBQ's. We all fit and had a great time. We fished in the late during the late. Quick trip to get to it by car.
It was a great location. We were easily able to take our tubes and kayaks to the lake from the campsite. Not many trees so it can get hot. Their is a shade structure but I also took my canopy and had lots more shade.
Beautiful campground nested in the trees on Mount Lemmon. Great escape from Phoenix. The breeze was amazing and the trees gave alot of shade. We hiked and spend about 3 nights here. We were 15 people and had a could of sites right next to eachother. Sites are a good size for a paid campground, not small like most others.
Close to Woods Canyon Lake, but very small sites. There is tons of national forest land around with large free campgrounds in Payson. About 600 free sites available between this lake and bear lake. I definitely recommend the free site.
We were here for 1 night. Had reservation for Antelope canyon tour the next morning. This site was in the low $20's with my aaa discount. Small plots but not an issue for a night. Showers for everyone are included in that price. And we used the indoor pool and hot tub to relax.
We stayed 1 night at watchman campground, only reservation we could get. This is a good first come first serve option. Was in line at 6am. Had the site around 10am. Good campground but fills up fast.
If you're going to camp best to have reservations here. First come first serve at the south campground takes about 3-4 hours to get. Cheap. If you check out and have to pay for parking is $20 for parking. So might as well have a campground!
