Beware of the foxtails

Pros:

- great location for exploring Denver

- beautiful sunset

Cons:

- SO MANY FOXTAILS which can be deadly to dogs, and my site was covered in them. They're also everywhere throughout the campground. So if you have dogs I would not use this more than a stopover to recharge.

- Highway noise was very loud if outside rig

Cell: you're in the middle of a city, both AT&T and Verizon worked just fine

Great for a stopover, reset, or water lovers!

Pros:

- easy to get to from I-70

- friendly camp hosts

- lots of grass to walk dogs

- beautiful sunsets

Cons:

- 35 minutes one way to the nearest town with major stores like Walmart and Petco

- people did not care about walking through my waterfront site to get to the water (there were other ways)

- site was pretty sloped back to front and side to side but just bring leveling blocks and you're fine

- dump station didn't provide a water hose for cleaning the sewer hose after dumping even though it had water connection but must provide own hose

I didn't use the bathroom facilities and forgot to test speed but I had zero issues with Verizon or AT&T.

Peaceful

Pros:

- so peacefully quiet, seriously even with the kids

- dog park with 3 separate areas- close to KC

- a hose at the dump station that you can actually hook up to your black tank flush

- both AT&T and Verizon worked great

Cons:

- I honestly have none from here!

If I Could Leave Zero Stars I Would

I have stayed in hundreds of places and hiked many miles and have never experienced a tick infestation like I did at this park. I stopped counting at 20(!!!) pulled off my dogs(yes, they are on prevention meds), myself(yes, I was wearing DEET), and inside my camper in just two days. 0/10 do NOT recommend

Closed 7/24

East entrance closed with sign that says authorized vehicles only. West entrance by the restrooms was open but the road back to the campsites also had an authorized vehicles only sign blocking the road. I probably couldā€™ve chances staying in the lot by the restrooms but it seemed extra sketchy and I didnā€™t want to get a knock in the middle of the night to move. Had to go to the La Quinta Inn in Limon because the truck stops were full. The La Quinta has rv parking and my combined 49ft of truck/TT fit fine.
