Very pretty but not level

This park is very pretty. The people camping here were very nice. Bathrooms are clean. The sites are notoriously NOT level. We had to move because we could not get level. Ended up in a site that faced the street (which was vey busy). A lot of the sites are very private and some have water views. The sites with sewer are very parking lot like.

The hiking is the reason you come here

Stayed in white oak, less crowded. Stayed in site 83 near creek pretty but kids do tend to play there. Site 84 also good and 93 would be more private and nice. Clean bathrooms. Sketchy cell service. Amazing hiking. Mountain laurel campground has a LOT more people but 24,25,26,28 are quite separate.

The hiking is amazing. You can get 3 days of pretty heavy duty hiking easily. Knowee toxaway state park is close and you can hike or go to the lake.

Great park some sites close together

This is an amazingly beautiful state park. The bathrooms are super clean. Great cell service. Site 12 very private 18, 20 not bad 45,47,49 50 good too try to pick end spot

Amazing park

The sites here are some of the best we’ve had. Spacious, private and clean. Great cell service. Super clean bathrooms. Close to a Publix. Lots of hiking (walking really), biking etc. An easy drive to Savannah. We were here for Halloween and it was very cute (be aware that the park hosts trick or treat for local kids, so bring your candy if you are in the sites close to the office). This park has a ton of sites but you’d never feel you are in a huge park. We already booked another stay.

Pretty awesome

We spent 4 nights here in December. The park is really well taken care of. There are lots of trails that are really well marked. Lots of park road to ride bikes too. The bathrooms were pristine. There are a ton of waterfront sites (sadly we were not in one). The sites in the 70’s are great. Private and spacious. Site 82 is possibly the best as it has huge views, a beach and a deck. Some site have full hook ups. Some have gray water dumps (so convenient!). Cell service was awesome. The ONLY negative is that it takes quite some time to get to (and you pass about 3 other parks if coming from SC). Also make sure you grab groceries well before arriving as there is nothing close by. All in all, great park (as are almost all in GA)

Possibly the worst campground

First of all, when people say it’s nowhere they mean it. Nowhere can be good. But this is the opposite. There is chain link fence surrounding the park. The “hiking trail” runs along the road and cars barrel down it. The sites are not level and the ground is almost sandy (ie: your camper will stay dirty). No privacy and all the sites are super close together. There is nothing to do at the park or anywhere close by. Booked 4 nights and we are leaving after one. Be prepared for almost zero cell service.
