Excellent small campgrounds

This campgrounds is excellent if you like quiet beautiful scenery with no amenities. This is a self check in first come first serve campground. There are plenty of vaulted toilets available. There are flush bathrooms but they were closed. The vaulted ones were extremely clean no flies and didn't have a strong odor. Some sites overlook a creek. There is trash and recycling there but they ask that you pack it out. Tall fire pits with a section of wide grate attached. Rangers and cleaning staff drove through many times in a day and were friendly.

Gualala is wonderful

This place cost more than most but all campsites have water and electric. There is a small store on site, games for the kids, flush toilets and showers. Around 30 sites overlook the river and it is a wonderful walk to the ocean. The campsites were spacious and very clean.

Beautiful area

I would rate this much higher but there were 2 things I really didn't like. 1 -the ground had soft powdered dirt. 2- the bees were so bad eating or drinking anything was difficult Outside of those two it would have been perfect. The site was really big and fairly level, close to the bath/showers/trash and extra parking. It is a few miles to a beautiful cascading river and then a few more tothe lake. The campgrounds in general are very well maintained and clean. Verizon works well at the check in but not in the campgrounds themselves.
