Great short trip close to big bear

The place is great. It has firepits and picnic tables. Plenty of trees for shade but some yellow post sites are steeper than others. I stayed at yellow post 12. The camp sites are close but still quiet. Verizon had 2 bars but very slow internet. Phone calls are okay. For a spot that's free and no limit on cars or tents. This place is great for 2 days trip and it's close to big bear city.

Not a bad spot

We camped at yellow post #3. Free camping. The area had a good amount of space between other campers. Couldn't hear anyone around my camp. Very quiet at night. Spotted a couple of deer. We were there 6/20/21. 92 degrees around 11am-4pm. 64 degrees around 10pm-4am. Little wind. No camp fire or use of charcoal while we were there. No trash, restrooms or water. Make sure your area has a metal firepit or somewhat you're near one. Those are indications of camp areas. Nice little hike area with but nothing too crazy. Good amount of tall trees for shade. Certain parts are sandy and the roads are dirt. The road to the camp sites are not too bad. Any sedans like Subarus or crossovers will not have a problem.
