It was beautiful. We loved it so much we stayed longer. It was surrounded by trees and wildlife. There was an amazing hike that came straight out of our campsite. It follows the river in both directions. Perfect place for explores and fishermen.
We have a 44 foot camper trailer though and there was only one site that could fit a camper our size. Most spots would only fit a 30 foot camper or smaller. This place filled up fast on the weekends with tenters, RV’s, and trailers. It’s a first come first serve. So no reservations and we got no cell phone reception while in the campground.
Also I would recommend visiting Mesa Falls when you stay here.
Camping sites are like a parking lot. The tables have wonderful covers over them. We made some great friends though being so close to our neighbors. There are fire pits at each site. This is a beautiful place to ride side-by-sides and it’s a great place to explore. But don’t be surprised by the close quarters and hot afternoons. Best to go camping here in early or late summer.
Bring your walking shoes and flip flops. There is some small walks through the sand and around the lake.
The beach area is nice and can get pretty busy on the weekends. Be careful though, if you swim in the water, there are leaches. But if you stay on the shore edge they won’t bother you.
