This campground is really busy but its definitely worth it to be in Traverse City! It is right across from the bay so its easy to go swimming. It is also close to all of the wineries which was awesome.
This campground is close to Elk Rapids which is what I really cared about. The sites are nice and large, however, I thought we would have better access to Elk Lake. I would stay here again though.
We come here every year for a family reunion and always rent one of the cabins. We love coming here. The park is huge and there are lots of things to do. You can go to the beach, kayak, hike, or go outside the park to explore some caves or a bat church. We will continue to come here every year!
When we went camping here we were the only people here! It was very private and we loved it. There are no lights or hookups so you need to bring a generator for electricity. There also aren't any people working here regularly so make sure you are prepared for anything that might happen. We would definitely stay here again though!
This campground was really close to the silver lake sand dunes and a perfect place for us to stay while we were out there. This campground was quite the party campground and everyone there was riding bikes/atv's at the sand dunes. It was a fun place to stay. Their bathrooms were nice and well kept.
We stayed here while road-tripping on our honeymoon in September. This campground maybe had 5 other campers here while we were here and it was AMAZING. We loved how empty it was. Our camper also backed up to the field behind the campground which was really nice. We got great views while laying in bed and even awoke to some deer looking at us!
This campground was nice and well kept but BUSY. Every time I have been here it has been packed. There isn't much space between the sites so it kind of feels like you are on top of each other. I wouldn't come back here if I didn't have to. If you like more rustic camping, this place is not for you.
We stayed in the deluxe cabin for one night and loved it! The cabin was so cute and well kept. It came with a fridge, stove, and bathroom. We had 6 people in it and we fit comfortably. We would definitely stay here again. This KOA has a lot of things for children to do in the summer (pool, train ride, etc).
This campground was what we needed for squirrel hunting, however, it is very open and not very private. It is another one of those "parking lot campgrounds" where you can see all of your neighbors at all times. That being said, the park was very well kept and quiet at night which was nice.
This campground was really nice and quiet. It was also right by the lake so you could walk through the woods and go sit on the beach! However, the water is freezing so nobody was swimming. The scenery was still nice though!
This campground is really nice and has amazing views of the bridge! It is very close to town and very close to the ferries that take you across to Mackinac island. I would definitely stay here again!
M family has been coming here since they opened many years ago. I love coming to this campground to spend time with my family. The owners are really nice and it's a very quiet and small campground where everyone knows everyone. It is situated on a small lake that is great for fishing, boating, or kayaking.
There are also little cabins you can rent that are very cute. They don't have a bathroom but are located directly across from the bathrooms and the path is well lit at night so you don't have to worry about not being able to see your way there. The cabins are very well kept up, as are the bathrooms. Often times when I stay with my grandparents, I will use the campground bathrooms over the camper bathroom because they are SO clean you never have to worry about anything.
If what you're looking for is family fun, you can find it here! However, if you are like me and like more rustic camping, this is not the place for you. The sites are very close together and you can see all of your neighbors. It's what we like to call "parking lot campgrounds." There are plenty of activites for families and children like kayaking, bounce house, and disc golf.
This campground is pretty rustic and secluded from other people. If what you're looking for is privacy, you get it here! The sites are very private and very wooded. I would recommend this campground and would come back.
This campground is pretty rustic and definitely for the nature lover. There is no electricity or water hook up so it's important to keep that in mind. However, this is by far my favorite campground. We stayed here on our honeymoon and I would come back in a heartbeat. The lake is right across the street and within walking distance. At night the skies are so clear you can see all of the stars and everything is so quiet that you can hear wildlife. You are located next to lots of little hikes as well as the riding stables.
This campground is my FAVORITE in Oakland County. The sites aren't super far away from each other but there are trees between sites so from most of the sites you can't really see your neighbors. The camping loops also link to a one mile trail which will lead you to the beach if you like hiking!
