Huge pot holes and water puddles + crowded

You can only park on the one side of the river and it’s very crowded. Additionally the road going down to the camping area has huge pot holes and and water so you need high clearance to get down there.

Beautiful views, but crowded and mosquitos!

There are several sites (I think around 50?) on Shadow Mountain, however, they are typically all filled up! :) At any of the sites, it is very buggy, but so beautiful! The road up is pretty rocky but it's manageable. There are ambassadors who came up and talked to us multiple times, just warning about the bears and ensuring we are set up to camp properly. We did not have any run-ins with bears, but others in the area at other sites definitely did! I would definitely recommend this site!

VERY buggy and crowded - a lot of large campers/rvs

We arrived at Spread Creek on Sunday evening, and almost every spot in this area was full except 1 spot. Luckily, this site did have a bear food storage container and a fire ring. It was a few 100 yards from a little stream, and not too far from the larger, Spread Creek itself. Within in moments of showing up, the ambassador for the area showed up and told us about the bear sightings and how they've been getting into people's food because they aren't storing it properly. He also reminded us it was a "shared" camp area. We ended up not staying the night, just because of bad vibes we felt and the outrageous amount of mosquitos and horse flies!

Open space, close to Saguaro NP!

I would come back here again! There’s several spots and it’s literally next to Saguaro NP! It was a little muddy, but there were paths around the mud. Very private and nice.

Pretty views, but pretty sketchy area and so much trash

The options were nice and the views were gorgeous but there seems to be a lot of long term living people around in their cars as well as a decently large homeless population around. I didn’t feel very safe so I only stayed one night. Along with that, there was so much litter and trash.

Lots of space, easy to get to, nice views!

This was a short drive north of Vegas, and it’s worth it to get up into the mountains! The views are great, and it’s a fun place to explore. There’s a spot right off the road and then a few spots as you go up the road.

A lot of trash, people shooting guns day and night

The space was nice and there’s several places to park but it’s filled with trash. Also, there’s people constantly shooting guns in the BLM so I didn’t feel super safe and couldn’t let my dog off the leash. However, it’s pretty close to Vegas and the surrounding area. Also literally behind the seven magic mountains!

So many rigs! Easy to access! So much space.

This was very easy to get to and there’s essentially unlimited space. It can get a little windy since it’s the desert, but it was great.

Deep sand, close to busy road side.

This is ideally a good spot, but the sand is way too deep to get far enough off of the road.

4x4 required, super deep sand

Drove up this road thinking it would be okay, but as I got closer to the location, the sand got deeper. At night it was especially hard to see. Any of the roads going off the main road were too deep with sand to get into without getting stuck. Had to turn around and ended up parking closer to JT park.

Several spots but close to each other!

Right outside the park. Several spots to choose from all along the road. There’s a road that is on two sides. It’s a great option!

Many spots!

Several spots to choose from. Can be hard to find at night. It’s super close to the park so it’s easy to access!

Amazing views! Tons of spots!

Absolutely amazing area for camping! So many spots to choose from and hiking up to the palm canyon is right down that road. Not too far from Yuma

Pretty view, crowded, rocky road

This spot had great views, but it was crowded and I was lucky I got a spot. The ascent up the hill was very rocky and could be tough for non 4x4 rigs. There’s only a hand full of spots so be aware.

The site I chose was also uneven and very narrow.

Perfect spot!

More than enough spaces. Accessible to 89a. In between FLG and SED.
