Clean bathroom and zero trash!

My husband and I were pleased with this campsite! We celebrated our 1 year anniversary here!

The campground is small in size but each site was equipped with everything you needed. The bathroom was one of the cleanest campsite bathrooms we’ve ever seen and there was no trash spread on the grounds. Very clean. The view of the mountains was incredible even with the downpour of rain and heavy fog. We stayed in a #vanlife camper van so getting wet and staying warm wasnt and issue for us. 🙂 Because you’re well in the mountains, id definitely suggest packing several tarps for ground and roof cover if you’re using tents! I missed out but my husband and other campers saw a large moose just 2 camp spots away from our spot!

This campsite is situated along the CDT so you can imagine just how beautiful it is. It has a lot of different hiking trails for exploring and photography!

Estés park and RMNP are not far from the campground at all which was a HUGE plus! Before we camped, we hiked the Dream Lake/Emerald Lake trail in the park. The views along this hike are breathtaking—my camera and i were very pleased!

Pets are allowed at the campground and there was a water spigot outside of the bathroom. No fires were allowed during our stay due to fire danger.

We will definitely be camping/exploring there again!

The most incredible trip I’ve been on so far!

This area is insanely beautiful and serene. You’ve got to be sure to reserve your spot ahead of time though! Lots of campsites in different lakes to choose from. We stayed on Crab Lake and had an entire island all to ourselves. 200+ rod portage, all well worth it. Plenty of fishing too. It’s the absolute perfect spot to unplug from the world and truly live in the wild. We plan to go back at least once every year!

WOWZA!

This. Place. Breathtakingly beautiful. Obviously the canyon stole the show, but Mather Park was a treat as well. It was jam packed with tourists, but still amazing! I loved being close to the general store and hotel, complete with a restaurant, coffee shop and cafeteria hall! We decided to go on a walk the next morning to view the sunrise and it only took us about 15 minutes from our campsite! Hiking down and back up the South Kaibab trail was a treat for the both of us as we got engaged near mid-point! The hike down was easy, but going back up was tough! Be sure to pack lots of water and carry minimally, and abide by the signs. The views are incredible and the park staff were all very nice! The weather during March was a bit nippy at night inside the tent, but during the day it warmed up. We can’t wait to go back and experience Horseshoe Bend!

Labor Day Getaway!

Great spot for a weekend getaway. My fiancé and I actually spent 2 nights here and although it poured rain for half the trip, we still enjoyed every bit of it. We hiked one of the trails on site that we thought would only take 20-30 minutes, but ended up taking nearly 2 hours! There was a lot to gawk at too—got so many great photos. Even though it was Labor Day weekend, the park wasn’t crazy busy which made it better. Close enough to the small town and far enough for peace and quiet!

Beautiful!

Such a quaint town and park!

We spent one night here and booked it for our wedding venue as well! The lake view was spectacular and the park manager, Joanne was so humble! Joanne lives on the grounds so it made for easy access to any answers we needed while camping. We were looking for an outdoor space surrounded by tall trees for our 2020 ceremony and this site hit the sweet spot! There are a number of grassy campsites as well as dirt sites. Bunk cabins are available as well! We stayed right on the edge of the lake and absolutely loved it. So serene!🙌🏾May is the perfect time to go if you’re looking for some peace and quiet away from other campers. This campsite also doesn’t allow cars or generators on any of the camping spots, so be sure to keep that in mind!

Can’t wait to go back!
