Perfect location for visiting Taos minutes from down town and other attractions. Just outside town in a less congested more quiet area. Two restaurants within walking distance as well as major grocery supply minutes away. Sites are nicely spaced and fairly level ..some are placed most are gravel. Minimal shade from small trees but landscape is nice at each site. We prefer to use our own bathroom so I cant speak to the bath facilities. Appears to be mostly travelers..no permanent sites. Would stay again if in the area.
We are full time travelling in a MH. We are mainly touring NPs. After a particularly busy park schedule we like to just chill. This KOA is super for that! Clean, quiet, and patio spots right on the CO River. Surrounded by mountain views with beautiful sunsets! Perfect place to just relax! Great staff and amenities!
Web site pictures are outdated most sites have the paved ground washed out. Some are good but not right on the river. Very tight and crowded camp ground. Campers have no respect for your site and are constantly walking through if on the river. Lots of permanent residents…not very well maintained. It's a shame because the property could be so so nice
Would not stay again nor reccomended.
It is a good location on the Guadaupe River and close to old town Seguin as well as all the expansion areas off 123.
Great well managed camp ground. Caters to 55 plus with activities almost everyday. Everyone we met has been nice…mostly here for the winter. Some permanent but everything is well kept and not trashy. I would love to winter here. Uvalde is a nice little town. Good open sites with full hook ups. Many paved and level and lots of shade.
The Cascade River is a great river to hike from its upper falls area to the mouth at Lake Superior. 5 falls or cascades are all visible from the trails along the river. The campsites are close and most are not level and have only electric hookup. The road in is not big rig friendly with low branches and washboard gravel roads. The hiking trails are well worn so easy to hike safely. This is a perfect camp for small trailer or tent camping as the sites are shaded. Bath houses are fine and water sources are good. There is a free dump and fill station for campers..a bonus!
In the middle of corn and bean fields..very peaceful! Open camp sites some shaded and pull through. Big rig friendly. Pool was closed for repair on our visit but looked like nice sized pool. Staff was welcoming and grounds were clean. Drive over to Austin and visit the Spam Museum…who knew?
Nice campground…a little rural but close to town. Helpful staff, decent size sites and hookups. Pool area was nice but busy on our stay. Great family camping. Kwik Trip down the road has everything you forgot to bring but there's a full grocery just a few miles from the campground…small but well stocked. Easy on easy off from I35 and close enough to Duluth to make a day trip. Would stop here again!
Friendly campground! Nice restaurant on site. Seems to cater to the side by side…ATV crowd. Lots to see and do in the area. Take a drive over to Ely..cute town. Visit the old Irin mine! We had a God stay…but sites are tight for larger rigs. Gravel road in is rough so go slow. Did not try bath house or public facilities.
On the Gunflint Trail off the beaten path! Get away from it all…really. No cell to bother you here! On Flour Lake with great service from the staff. Sights are close and tight but have nice tree and foliage growth between sites. No full hook up…but dump station on site. Fishing dock and boat rental on site with reasonable prices. In the Superior National Forest..lots of hiking trails. Lakes all around to explore and the Gunflint historical society up the road. Drive trail to end for some great views and the north south continental divide. We were here for 6 days and loved it. Bath house geta a just ok from me…not the best or worse I've seen. Friendly folks everywhere.
Fantastic state park on Lake Superior! Best bath house ever! Great little camp store and informed staff. Sites are large and most in the upper ground are private. We stayed in 4 sites over 2 weeks. Most have only electric hook up…no water or sewer. The roads are paved so no dust! Easy access to lake via trails. Great hiking al miles and river. Lower campground has access to a more friendly beach area for swimming. We loved our stay here and some sites have fabulous views of the lake.
Great location between Duluth and the far North Shore. Close to 2 state parks and land mark Black Beach. Silver Bay has small grocery store and services. The park is a tree dessert with only young saplings…no shade. Facilities are clean but limited in number for number of camp sites. Maintained by the city or county so it is kept pretty clean. We were here 4 days…waiting for next reservation. Easy access from 61. No camp store that we saw. Level gravel sites with various hookup options. Very few are full hook up.
