Lovely spot - no level area though

This is a nice campground with great access to trailheads and beautiful views of the night sky. The one issue is that our site had absolutely no level spots whatsoever, so we ended up setting up our tents in the parking bay. Otherwise, lovely stay overall - recommended for Bryce adventures!

Sand, sun, scratching

Excellent campground with perfect access to the dunes, and a great primer for desert camping overall. The site we stayed at (019) has absolutely no shade so make sure you plan activities away from the campground during the day. The place was also Mosquito Central (at least during our July visit) so bug spray or (better yet) a screened pavilion are highly recommended. The bathrooms are newly remodeled - would be nice to have soap and hand dryers available.

Great campground - watch out for summer mudslides affecting some spots...

This is a wonderful campground next door to some of the prettiest hikes Capitol Reef has to offer. However, our site (B40) did not seem  appropriate for tent camping. There is no tent pad, the area surrounding the parking bay is not leveled, and it has no grass or gravel, only red dirt which turns into mud very quickly. Additionally, the site is downhill from the surrounding sites so any amount of rain will turn the site (including the blacktop) into a mud bath. At the same time, it must be a good RV camping spot as the bay is huge with lots of shade during most of the day.
