On a motorcycle road trip with my dad and we decided to spend a night here. It was a weeknight so there were available sites upon arrival. I’d recommend reserving in advance just in case. I hadn’t ever really considered staying at the lake until we saw that it was near us on our trip. The park is huge. They have a playground, fishing piers, snow cone stands, and so much more that I probably didn’t even notice. We stayed on site 346 which is on the far tip of the park on a peninsula. Had the whole peninsula to ourselves. Best site! At the other end of the park is a great swimming area with cliffs of all heights to jump from.

I honestly had never even considered staying at this park until we realized it was near. This park has some of the bluest water I’ve ever seen in Texas. The fishing was good and the park is packed full of all sorts of animals. We saw deer, boar, raccoon, and armadillo. Just a heads up, the armadillo are all over at night but they’re not aggressive in case you’re wondering.
On a motorcycle road trip with my dad and we decided to spend a night here. It was a weeknight so there were available sites upon arrival. I’d recommend reserving in advance just in case. The water was a little low when we visited but the park is nice. Was able to catch some fish and swim a little.
I stayed here for one night in May. Had a very good experience. The hosts are very welcoming and are knowledgeable of the area. There are hiking trails nearby and a little bakery next door. Would definitely recommend swinging by if you’re in the area. Don’t forget to ask if there are any fresh yard eggs available!
Took the Forth of July Trail to Diamond Lake for some camping and fishing. Ended up camping for 4 nights. Aside from a few random hikers throughout the day, I pretty much had the place to myself. Great fishing
Pace bend is a great little spot if you’re wanting to get out of the city for the weekend. Full of hiking, fishing, cliff jumping (at your own risk), and kayaking. They have reserved sites and first come first serve.
