This is one our our families most memorable campgrounds that we have stayed at due to the view of Glacier National Park.

The campground was clean and well cared for and well run. We had a back-in full-hookup site that faced the mountains. The only negative was, we were right next to the main entrance so we did have a lot of traffic next to our site, but it didn't spoil our time. We enjoyed spending time outside watching the sun set and even when it rained we enjoyed the view from our RV.

The campground is very conveniently located to Glacier Park, which we would highly recommend. Very beautiful, great hikes, and the "Going to the Sun Road" is an amazing drive. We would definitely stay here again if we were going to stay on the east side if Glacier National Park. Highly recommend this park.

We would suggest coming to this area fully stocked with food for your visit. Food selection is very limited in the local stores and coupled with outrageous prices. Prices for groceries are inflated by four to five times above what you would find in most local grocery stores.

This campground was very close to the West Yellowstone entrance and was very convenient. This campground is right in the small town of West Yellowstone. The park felt safe, clean, and well cared for. It was a large gravel pull-thru site with full hook-ups that was okay. It was a little difficult to level with our travel trailer with our Anderson levelers because they kept sliding in the gravel (frustrating). There was some grass and young trees that were well cared for.

We used our couple night stay to utilize the laundry facilities, which were clean and fully functional, and also visit some friends nearby. 

We would stay here again, but it would not be a destination for us. We did visit several local stores in West Yellowstone during our stay and it felt very touristy, which I guess we shouldn't have been a surprised by. We needed to restock on some groceries during our stay and they were a bit pricey.

The campground is affiliated "Giant Screen Theatre" on the same grounds. As a guest of at the RV park you get a discounted rate to see a movie but our time there was limited and we didn't take the time to see a movie.

I would recommend this campground but the location leaves something to be desired. I feel like it was very utilitarian, well cared for, and was a good move by the owners to make this location into a RV park.

We spent a couple nights at this campground while visiting the Grand Tetons National Park. We enjoyed our stayed but we felt like we were packed in with a lot of other campers.

Our stay was okay but would prefer to have more room between sites. This wouldn't be our first choice of place to stay when visiting Grand Tetons National Park again but at the same time it was one of the few full-hookup RV campgrounds near Grand Tetons.

Our site wasn't very level but we were able to make it work without too much fuss. Hookups worked as expected but water pressure was a little low during prime time hours.

We stayed one night at this KOA on our way to the Grand Tetons National Park from Wind Cave National Park. It was a nice campground and we enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and had our site ready for us upon arrival.

This campground is what we tend to expect from staying at a KOA. We had a pull-thru site that was in the trees and relatively level gravel site. When ever possible we enjoy sites in the tress. We were in a shorter pull-thru site but with our extended cab truck and our 25' trailer, we pretty much maxed out the length of the site but were able to stay hooked up. The hookups worked well but the water connection was very low to the ground which required us to change up our normal fresh water setup, but everything worked out well with a little modifications on our end. 

On most of our one night stays we have a tendency to stick in-side of our tailer, have dinner, and go to bed. This night we ended up sitting out side with our portable fire pit and listening to the river near by.

If we were ever traveling through this area again we would stay here again.

This KOA is a great basecamp for visiting the Black Hills and is also in a very pretty location. The staff was great and quick to respond, but our site left somethings to be desired.

We where put into a tight and short pull-thru site that was fairly un-level. It took some work and a bunch of blocks to get things close to level. Our power pedestal had an electrical short and shorted out our Progressive 30-amp surge protector. Thankfully we had a surge protector and it took the electrical hit and not our trailer. As an aside, I gave Progressive a call, we walked thru the situation and they had a new unit at our house before we returned from our trip. Great customer service.

Gave the campground office a call and one of the staff arrived quickly on their golf cart, voltage meter in hand, to look at the power. Confirmed there was something wrong and but they were able to get us up and running in a short time. Our first impression was a little rough and the rest of the stay was okay. Since we were there to explore Black Hills we didn't spend much time at the campground. We would stay here again. Things can go wrong anywhere and at any campground.

PSA - When things go wrong it is always good to slow down, take a break before moving on to tackle other things. In a moment of frustration and distraction, I had leaned our sway bars vertically on the frame by they propane tanks. Well the at some point they had slid along the frame towards the front cap of the trailer…. after the issue of with electrical, I returned to lower the front of the trailer to level and punched a 2" square hole in the diamond plate and fiberglass on the lower front area of the trailer. Totally my fault.  I learned several good lessons that day, always use a surge protector, never sit anything in an any area where things could slide, always double check the area if you leave to work on something else before starting to work on the area you returned to, things can change while away. I also learned the value of FLEX TAPE great product and wouldn't leave home without it.

We would stay here again in the future.

This KOA in Kennebec has been a good stop over for us when traveling through South Dakota. Kennebec is a sleepy town off of I-90, and this KOA seems to be the life of the town.

The staff has been welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The facilities seem well cared for and clean. For our stays we have just been passing through and have opted for pull-thru sites with full-hook ups to keep it easy and we have never had to disconnect from our TT to get level for the night.

This KOA will probably not a destination for us, but it is a great stay along the way.

We already have a trip planned for next year across I-90 and Kennebec is on the itinerary.

My family stayer here for five night this past June. Reservations and deposit was easy to do online. Their reservation system was easy to use, able to pick out site and was also able to do some more extensive search criteria on it as well to check availability. The office is a small building as you enter the campground. The staff was prepared for us and the process of checking-in was very smooth.

This is a newer park but well maintained. The sites are well layout, with a good amount a space between sites. Full hookups and everything worked well.

If it were dry it could see things get dusty on a windy day but the area had a good amount of rain this summer and this was not an issue for us. There is a good mix of pull-thru sites and back-in sites. The site was what looked like a mixture of gravel and recycled asphalt and was mostly level. A little rough on bare feet but an outdoor rug help out a ton. While we were there they were planting tress. It will take sometime for them to grow to provide very much shade but you can tell they are looking towards the future.

There were a lot of bugs while we were there, so it was hard to stay outdoors for a long period of time during certain times of the day. But this is the Mid-west and it is just part of this region of the US. Next time I would bring a screen tent to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Restrooms and Showers were not open due to COVID.

This campground in located on the east side of small town of Christmas and a short drive west to Munising, WI. and it is not a far drive to Pictured Rocks National Lake shore. It is a beautiful park and I would highly recommend seeing the rocks along the lake shore either from the water on a guided boat tour, kayak tour, or boat ( there are pontoon rentals available too). Most of these options are available in Munising. Also hiking through the park forest, along the lake shore, rivers and many waterfalls was a great experience.

We will definitely stay again at this RV park again.

Our family wanted a couple of nights to rest closer to home before returning home after a great week long plus trip to the U.P. of Michigan. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our site was in a great location in the park and we were surrounded by some very friendly seasonal RV'ers. The grounds were very well maintained and they hosts really went out of their way to welcome us and help us get in and settled into our site. There is easy water access to Nelson and a short drive in Hayward WI.

The site was a little tight getting into with our 35' TT because of the approach. But we made it in with some direction from the campground host, and on lookers. Nothing like some good old fashion parking peer pressure.; )

The pad was concrete and level, included a nice patio, a picnic table, some nice planters and well maintained  grass on the driver's side of our rig. We had full hookups. The water spigot was shared with the site behind us but there was already a "y" connection installed. Good water pressure. Had a little trouble getting our sewer hose to fit tightly but I tried something new and flipped the sewer donut upside down and was able to get a tight seal.

AT&T and Verizon signals were a little weak but could make phone calls (AT&T) and email with my Verizon hotspot for email.

Had a good time walking the grounds, looking at the lake from the docks and watching the painted turtles who were laying their eggs along the campground's beach. The other seasonal rv's were very friendly and seemed to be having a good time gathering together in the evenings.

We would stay here again and even consider staying for a longer period of time as well in the future.

We stayed here to visit Porcupine Mountain State Park. We enjoyed the park, had some great hikes along water falls and spending time along the shore of Lake Superior.

Check-in was smooth and they offered us several options of sites to pick from. The campground seems to be well maintained and some of the sites are large. Our site was grass and had some ruts from previous guests. It sounded like they had a lot of rain earlier in the summer.

Some sites do face each other which we find a little awkward when you are not traveling with friends. The pressure to visit when outside every time does feel a bit uncomfortable. We were fortunate to have a great family next to us which made the awkwardness feel much less uncomfortable.

There were some sites that were full of toys (four wheelers and side-by-sides) but we never felt that they were noisy. There were a couple of sites that enjoyed “sharing” their music with the campground, but that didn’t subside after a while (thankfully).

Ontonagon is a quiet sleepy little town which didn’t seem to have much happening. But it was a Covid year and everything is a little different.

We enjoyed our time here and would stay here again and will bring some friends along as well.

We first stayed at Alpine Campground this summer and we ended up staying twice on two separate trips. Both times we needed a place to rest for a night on our way to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and later to Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. We think we discovered something special.

The campground is on a beautiful property. It is a bit dated and our pull thru sites where just long enough for our 35’ trailer and truck to stay connected. Sites were grass, a little un-level but were very spacious. These pull-thru sites were water and electric only (30 amp) and the water pressure was a little low. There is a convenient dump station on the way out of the park.

But the sweet owner who opened this park years ago with her husband made the stay a gem. She and her three small dogs went out of her way to make there way around the park on her golf cart and check-in with her guests.

There are full hookups sites back in the trees and there are also some great group camping sites down by the river. Some even looked like the had water and electric at them. There were tents also setup on the perimeter of the grounds.

Where we may have found some small things at a different park a bit disappointing, the charm of this park made this a special place to stay and dream of years gone by. We look forward to visiting again.

First come first served park. We were able to find a spot before 1pm but the park filled up by 3-4pm. There was steady traffic of disappointed RVs driving through the grounds till 6-7pm.

Water and electric sites only with a dump station on site. The dump station is on a hill and with a longer rig our tow vehicle felt in the way of the entrance/ exit and the road to the boat launch.

Great views of Lake Superior and it was fun to walk out on the the lower park of an old ore dock. Ashland is a nice small town with several good options for food/restaurants and groceries.

Check out the artisan well along the lake on the east side of Ashland and bring some empty containers to get some great water.

Would definitely recommend.

We have stayed here twice. Newer park and have seen improvements from our first stay till our most recent. Grounds seem well cared for overall. The grass was a bit long but green. The campsite had a good amount of garbage in the fire pit and some around the site. I think a quick walk thru by staff would have caught this mess.

Sites are gravel and pretty level. Only a little leveling was needed. Staff/owners were friendly and helpful.

Our most recent stay, we were there with friends and we were able to get sites next to each other. There is not an office on site but the several times I called they answered the phone or called back promptly.

They assign sites when you pay your deposit which I really like knowing prior to arrival.

The views from the campground are pretty and there are a lot of eagles nesting in this area.

As with many RV parks they have railroad tracks nearby with trains come through several times a day/night.

We would stay here again and is beautiful drive from the Twin Cities.

Spent a weekend at Red Pine Campground (formally Ogston’s RV Park). Check-in was smooth and staff was very friendly. Our 35’ travel trailer fit well into our back-in site. Full hookups and everything worked as expected. Site was gravel and a a little un-level, but nothing extreme.

We were traveling with friends and the staff (owners I believe) made it work out for us to have sites next to each other.

Park felt well cared for and attended too. Walked the grounds and had fun looking for agates in a rock pile. The small lakes or ponds around the campground were a nice touch. Was a little buggy at night but it is Minnesota in the summertime. There was some water craft that could be utilized by campers. Since we were self isolating due to Covid we kind of kept to ourselves and hung around our site with our friends.

Easy access to Duluth. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was okay. Office and store was clean and well cared for. Check in was smooth and we were shown to our sites. We were spending the weekend with friends and the campground was very accommodating.

Campground was very dark in the area of campsites which made setting up a bit difficult. Our sites were grass that was a little long and rutted from what seemed from previous tenants. This made getting leveling a little difficult and out fold out stairs touched the ground before fully being deployed. After leveling in the dark we began searching for our full hookups. Found the sewer in the tall grass and electric , but the water supply was no where to be seen. Gave the office a call and they were prompt to respond.

We were quick to learn that water hookups were shared with other sites and required “y” connections at the spigots. Our host(s) were prepared with the connectors in hand but seemed a bit surprised that we might need them and we were a bit confused that they didn’t mention this to us when reached out sites.

Then we all collectively began searching for our water source. Ours source ended up being 75’ plus from our RV. Thankfully I just happened to be carrying the extra hose for several years but never had to use it before. It was a little uncomfortable to turn off someone’s water supply, unhook their hose and place the “y” adaptor in line so both of out rigs could be hooked up to the water spigot. Because of the distance our hoses were run over by four wheels and side by sides. The campground host also seemed to be a bit uncomfortable too and really didn’t want to be the ones to do it.

After we were setup our stay was good.

Great proximity to Banning State Park. Enjoyed a great day of hiking around this state park and enjoying the water and ruins of old buildings.

We would stay here again for a quick get away from the Twin Cites but would want to arrive before it gets dark a d bring a lot of hose.

It was the spring of 2020 and COVID was just a thing that would soon pass… The family needed a little break from the new daily grid of quarantining in our home. Working and schooling full time from home was a new and somewhat novel thing we were all adjusting too.

Pokegama Lake campground provided a good weekend away from from the Twin Cities. Since social distancing was in place we only talked to the staff on the phone. Check in was efficient and ready for our arrival. Our first site was beautiful and in the trees as requested but the site had our sewer uncomfortably in the front yard of the our new weekend neighbor who was already there. We gave the office a call and they set us up with a pull thru site just across the road without hesitation. Our site was level and the full hookups worked as expected.

We are not golfers but would have taken advantage of the course if we were.

Not much to do in the area but that didn’t dampen our weekend. Not sure we would spend more than a long weekend here.

There was a boat launch across the road for those looking for a place to to get out on the water with their water craft. A good portion of the campground was occupied by seasonal campers. Not currently our cup of tea but it looked it full and busy. There were some sites that were well cared for and some that could use some TLC.

We would camp here again.

We have camped here multiple times in a tent and also in our RV. Grounds have a nice mix of RV spots out in the open as well as some RV and tent spots back in the trees with water and electric only sites. Full hookup sites are only out in the in the open spaces.

Sites are mostly level and are some are a bit tight and close to your neighbors. They have recently added some additional RV spots and some other upgrades as well. Staff is friendly and bathrooms, store, activity room, pool are all seemed to be well maintained.

Make reservations early in the session because things fill up quickly. Great family campground with a lot of young kids running around, riding bikes, and playing and dogs in most campsites. Pool is also available but we haven’t used.

Easy access to Jay Cook State Park. Jay Cook has a lot to offer; a suspended cable walking bridge, great moderate hikes, waterfalls, climbing on rocks, and amazing river views. Great place to stop in for a couple hours or spend the whole day hiking.

Not to far from Duluth and other amazing North Shore locations.

Dump station is conveniently located on your way out of the grounds but can get backed up at the end of a busy weekend and can make it difficult to exit the campground.

Like so many RV / campgrounds this one is also located near to railroad tracks that has several trains that come through day and night.

The entrance to the marina & campground is a little rough and could use some attention. Camp office & store and restrooms could also use some fresh-ing up as well. Staff was friendly and helpful.

If you like being next to the water in your RV you would be hard pressed to find an RV site any closer to the water. We had ships / sailboats as your neighbors.

Water and electric sites only that seemed to also be positioned for docked boats. Most sites were pretty level except for the occasional pot hole and mud puddle. Some trees were planted in the RV spot areas.

Dump station was a challenge with RV and a blue boy. To dump RV you most likely need to turn around and back in. Watched several RV’ers had some trouble getting their rigs in a good position to dump. I chose to use my tote (blue boy) and I had to lift / drag it up on a nearby railroad tie next to dump because the PVC sewer pipe was 4-6” above the ground. They did have a dump service for an additional fee, that was used by several boats during our stay.

Great proximity to Duluth and like many RV parks it comes with railroad tracks close by. The RV campground felt like a after thought to the marina but it works.

Severe weather rolled in on our last night and things got pretty scary. We thought at one point that we might tip over from high winds.. You are very exposed when you are parked on what could almost be called a “dock”. Several of the boats that were tied up next to use and their docks broke loose and were floating in bay. The storm does not reflect the review score but more of something to be considered.
