Not free camping

My mistake for not researching this place further but it was listed on the dyrt’s free camping sites, but this is a paid/reservation based site. Unfortunately we arrived passed check in (which starts at 3pm) and couldn’t stay here for the night

Got there late at night, but couldn’t see much

May have missed some thing because we arrived in the dark, but could see any areas with flat, low grass areas for camping

this place was awesome

The reservoir is currently closed but you can park around one side and walk to sites. This place is absolutely beautiful, secluded, and even has bathrooms with basic composting toilets, which is a great unexpected bonus for a dispersed site.

Hunting is permitted in this area so obviously be cautious and wear bright colors. We saw a lot of deer. Also saw a rattle snake, so watch where you step.

The reservoir is currently dry and filled with wildflowers, very beautiful.

very nice campground close to the NP

This was a very nicely managed site. All services you might want, even showers. Our spot wasn’t very closed off from other sites, and you’re not likely to get much privacy here

fine site, messy

The site was fine, fire pit, primitive spot so no services. We arrived late at night so couldn’t see so well but stopped in a clearing on the road toward the coordinates.

Kind of a gross site, the previous people who stayed at our site were messy and left litter, but it served its purpose as a free place to sleep along a longer trip.

loud frogs

This was a nice spot, but the animals at the pond are very active and made a lot of noise in the night. Port-a-potty was available.
