Great Lil Campground

Great little campground near the reservoir. Smaller & quieter than East Meadows Campground to the southeast (at least during our stay). Smaller sights, tighter turns would make Class A driving nervous. There is an overflow area for Class A’s & larger toy haulers. Mosquitoes weren’t too bad as of 08/04/2023

Still a great place !

Back again for the first time since the Sierra winter. Reservoir is pretty high, and not too busy this weekend with boaters. Bugs were minimal, a far cry from about 3 weeks ago at a nearby site. We were in Site 16, which has the ‘camp’ side opposite of our camper door - only reason we gave 4 stars & not 5. Otherwise outstanding!

Great Campground Near Jackson Meadows Reservoir

Super place, hosts are friendly & helpful! Some spots are tricky to back in, but easy walk to the reservoir for beach/water time. Some campers moored their boats/jet skis just off the campground. Gravelly shore and bottom, excellent paddleboarding & kayaking, but be aware this is a water sports lake - so expect powerboats & jet skis.

Awesome & Close Proximity to Lake

Got lucky and dodged smoke! Stayed at North Site 33 - if you have a trailer, use caution on the appx 100 foot back-in with about 10 feet between trees. Once in though… absolutely amazing. Sites were large & easy walk to lake. Dogs (and their humans) loved it. Sites are large, you don’t feel like you’re on top of anyone. North campground has back in sites, west campground has pull through sites. North campground has easier/better lake access. Road in can be bumpy in places, but worth the drive.

Easy First-time Backpacking Trip

Aloha, Dyrt Trybe!

Easy backpacking trip - if you’re not sure if you want to try backpacking, this would be a good one to get you hooked. 2.5 -3.0 mile hike in (depending where you park), gaining about 1000’ of elevation. Ends at Green Lake with some phenomenal spots.

Keep in mind, the lake is from snowmelt, so not particularly warm.

Would get 5 stars if the bugs weren’t so bad. We were fortunate that a mountain breeze kicked up both days we were there, but bug spray/Thermacell and/or head nets will make your experience a lot more enjoyable.

Wow!!! Great campground, great location !

Wow! Super-impressed, and we are super-spoiled now that we’ve seen Ruby’s operation. Used as a base camp for a week for Bryce (0:10 away), Zion (1.5 hours away) & GSENM (0:30-2:00 or more depending where you’re headed).

Small camp store is okay, but larger camp store has everything you could imagine, including frozen foods, camp supplies, souvenir and functional clothing, and groceries.

Not sure when we’ll be back…but, we WILL be back!

Still a Great Place to Stay

Upgraded to a camper this year! Site 23 was shorter than expected which upped the parking challenge but squeezed in okay. Had a great time - large area to spread gear out in, easy walk to semi-private cove on lake. AWESOME for birding - Bald Eagles 🦅, Pelicans, woodpeckers, chickadees & ravens - this is the Sierra after all. Can’t wait for our next visit.

It’s a Dump Station…what can I say?

Not bad. Did not realize it was $15 for dump until in the queue for a single side, single point dump site. Has water points for spraying out dump hose (👍🏻), spigot for connecting to black tank flush (👍🏻) and a fresh water spigot to fill your fresh tank (if you’re into filling fresh water tank at a dump site). Worked as advertised, but would have driven an hour down the road to Reno where I could dump for cheaper (& saved myself a half-hour in queue) had I known.

Can’t wait to go back !

Great little NF campground! Pretty busy (but it was a weekend) with both tents & camping trailers. Spots are well spaced, and fire pits/picnic tables are at each site, though at not be adjacent to your parking spot (no bear boxes provided though). We were on spot 004 & had a 50-yard uphill walk to fire pit & picnic table…not a big deal but a bit of a surprise. Some good rock scrambling available on the southeast side of the lake, 5 - 10 minute walk from campground. Cell service (Verizon) spotty at best. Definitely going back!

Best Beach Camping on Oahu!!!

Clean, well run private campground on Da North Shore. Fairly convenient (20 minutes) to Polynesian Cultural Center which offers a great opportunity to experience a luau. Proximity to a white sand beach second-to-none. Watch for humpback whales December through March…

Pretty Good Small Lake Campground

Had a great time here - terrific proximity to lake & decent sized camping sites. Nearby Portola, & easy drive from the Reno area.

Lots of generators in use during the day (the only reason I can’t give it 5 stars, since we were tent camping) , but all seemed to abide by hours posted for operation.

Already have reservations for this summer!
