I was attending a local wilderness first aid course and was able to have the privilege of staying at Smoky Bear. I was lucky that is was early in the season and was able to drive in and find a great site for my RV.
The sites were clean and well dispersed…there are a number of pit toilets available, large trash cans and fresh, potable water available.
No cell service for AT&T.
This is not a fancy campground but a solid place to set up a fish camp next to Silver Creek. The entire area was clean and the placement of the campers that were already there were fairly dispersed. There is a single pit toilet available but really no other amenities.
I was able to connect on AT&T (two bars) but the data speeds were fairly low and spotty at times.
I rolled in mid-afternoon and was able to find a great spot to camp for a couple of days. The sites were well dispersed and clean with picnic tables and fire pits available.
AT&T phone service was available and at good speeds. I chose to stay the extra day and was able to work remotely from the campground with my hotspot.
$18/night for out of state travelers with no hookups was a bit steep.
Good site and will be back!
We really enjoyed testing our new RV to West Mountain! Just load up the grub and hit the road!
The camp sites were clean, quiet and very close to the water. We are planning to come back in the summer and bring friends for a nice trip of kayaking and fishing right off the beach.
