Older camp facilities but well maintained, nice swim at your own risk beach (no guards), boat rentals, good fishing.
Nice sites on a beautiful little mountain lake, many lakefront sites for boat owners to enjoy. Make sure you have what you need though, it's a ride for supplies if you don't.
Campsites are unremarkable but not in bad way. Very generic DEC campground, facilities are clean and well maintained. Nice swimming area, smallish day use area. General location is great for hikers looking to access large number of Adirondack trails.
One of my favorite campgrounds. Great facilities, and friendly staff. MANY campsites with lakeside access, although do pay attention to the time of year as the water level can drop considerably over the summer. large swimming area and great fishing. Also two nice little stores just outside the gate as well as mini golf within walking distance.
Campground facilities are ok but the campground is located in the village of Lake George. The sites are in close proximity and many sit exposed to passing traffic on Roue 9. The campground's only positive quality is the proximity to downtown activities and night life of Lake George.
Moreau Lake has (in my opinion) superb facilities as far as state run campsites go. The beach is nice, large picnic facilities, and the campgrounds are well maintained with nice bathroom/shower buildings. The park has a large number of hiking trails for every level of outdoorsman and the staff is friendly and helpful. The main issue is the fact that due to it's proximity to I-87 and being conveniently located 20 minutes from both Lake George and Saratoga Springs the park draws large crowds of downstate tourists, not itself a wholey bad thing but during the summer season I wouldnt go here expecting to have the park to yourself,.
Nice state campground, very clean, nice staff. Campground and swimming area becomes very crowded, especially on holiday weekend due to proximity to I-87 and number of downstate tourists that frequent the park. Lake is nice for canoeing and kayaking but fish number and sizes are limited due to number of people fishing it on a regular basis.
