This was a good emergency stop, but I would not pay 15 dollars again. The bathrooms and showers were closed. Be aware. Its not that cool at night and there are a ton of mosquitos near the water. I went to explore and discovered a beauftiful cat there. Not sure if he is someones house cat that stays there, but he hangs by the water and seems taken care of 😆. He glared and stared at me when I psssspssss him. Peaceful.
The best spots were hidden. I found this to be a strange spot as a woman. Very little prvacy. Several men walked by our site staring at our rig acting strange. When we pulled in we saw three men just sitting at their site staring at women. The road in was too bumpy with many rocks. Some of the trucks fly down the road with little respect for campers. Ok for one night or passing through on your way to Grand Canyon. No cell signal at all.
There are large pull through spots and people seem to respect your camping space. Its a wash board about 500 feet in and it smooths out a bit after that. There is fair Tmobile signal here. Saw a humming bird multiple times. They will fly right up to you and stare at you. Nice breezes at night. Hot during the day. Trees everywhere. They seemed to have scooped out enough sand that you can get to the spaces near the road and wont get stuck. Very enjoyable and quiet.
