This is a very remote area if you go in far enough. I saw no other campers and only a couple 4 wheel drives going through the area. Be sure you're self sufficient in every way before you go too far in.

If you want wilderness this is the place. Get out into the parashant and it's all yours. There's nothing there but what God put there and a few people left behind. (I was a little disappointed with the small bit of thrash left at some old camp sites I found). It's beautiful if you like desert southwest areas. Lots of juniper, cedar, cacti, etc. Be sure to be prepared to be self sufficient in all ways if you get off the main rough road or you could be in real trouble.

It has river access via a boat ramp and "dock". There are several level, clear places to camp with enough room for rv's. The road in is rough gravel and a big rv will be slow going. However, I've seen so good size rv's there. It's free and first come camping. There's a vault toilet. It's otherwise primitive camping. Our group kayaks in during trout fishing trips and have never had a problem finding a place to camp. The Eleven Point River is beautiful and cold. Some of the best outdoor fun for adventurous people.

It's a level spot with gravel, so it's a "clean" place in damp weather. No much right there, but Apple Creek is a very short distance north on the gravel road. The creek is a good place to fish and you can launch a kayak the boat ramp. A picnic table and trash can were also on the site.

Stayed here 4/17-18. The first day I was visited by an older man on a dirt bike who was just out riding. The next morning an older man on a horse stopped to talk and a couple in a Cherokee stopped to chat. Seems it's a popular road for other people looking for an off-the-beaten-path place. The site is right on the lake an doesn't get any curious cars just driving by. The road in is rough, but a 2wd truck could make it in dry weather.

I went in March and had the whole place to myself.  Only coyotes and owls at night.  Very peaceful.  It was clean and had an odor free vault toilet!  This one may be my new go-to spot during the winter months.

I went in March and had the entire place to myself.  There was a very clean vault toilet that had no odor at all and the place was free of trash.  It was very quiet except for the coyotes and owls (breeding season).  The cell service was extremely good.  Better than at home.  It may get more crowded during the on-season, but for off-season it was perfect for someone looking for quiet solitude.
