Beautiful riverside site, hard to get to

The road is overgrown and eroded and you’d need a high clearance vehicle to negotiate it. I wouldn’t go there during rainy weather-the road will turn to mud and the site is at the same level as the river.

On the positive, the site is only a short distance away from the highway and you’ll be camping by a beautiful white cliff, among fragrant plantation. It’s also good stopover between Bryce Canyon and Escalante.

Great location for local hiking

The forest road 2367 was passable using a rear driven SUV when dry but judge from pictures if you can make it. After negotiating the rough bit there are 3 established spots, some shaded, and a 4th but only accessible with a 4x4. If you can’t make it, there are spots earlier coming from hwy 12, as well as later if you continue on the dirt road towards Bryce Canyon City.

This is a great location for Red Canyon as well as Bryce Canyon trips, the Tropic Reservoir is also short drive away. If you’re visiting in summer, there’s also Dark Ranger observatory 5min away.
