The camper cabins at Wild River are located just above the St. Croix River. Our cabin seemed to be at a trailhead to the river, which we took advantage of. The camper cabins had electricity and heat, no plumbing. Excellent fire ring for cooking. The park itself has many trails.

Great Campground, we were 1 of only 2 campers there. We went to the Upper Red Lake Beach, right across the street from the Cabins. We also drive to the upper unit and hiked the Big Bog Boardwalk, which was actually light filtering metal - no boards. The bog land was fascinating and the carnivorous plants were beautiful. Bog walk was about 1 mile, one way.

Woodenfrog is located along the shoreline of Lake Kabetogama - part of Voyageurs National Park. The sites all seemed to be nestled nicely into their own nooks among the trees. We were the only campers in the entire campground when we started in late April. The trail along the lake was nice, fire ring was perfect for cooking and the “locals” (squirrel & deer)  were friendly.

Perfect little camper cabin and site. Fabulous park staff that even turned the heater on for us before we arrived. The cabin has electricity, heat, no plumbing. No cooking inside, wonderful fire ring for cooking, which we used at night.

Very well maintained sites. Typical National Park standards. Gracious camp host. Beautiful National Park.

We loved our night at Koehler-Andre. The trees are amazing, the Campground was clean and the park is beautiful. We stayed in an electric site.

This is an older family Campground, lots of seasonal campers. Great sites along the Rock River, just a few minutes from the Horicon Marsh. We stayed with them before their official camping season opened so we missed the amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bird watching was abundant! Great overnight stay.

Very nice neat and clean campground. We did not like the fire rings because they had the three walls with only one opening. See photos. It was lovely to walk on the Atlantic while there and enjoy sunrise on the beach. There is a large public access parking area beside campground. Eat breakfast at Pat’s Diner just a few miles from the campground. It’s the real deal.

Awesome campground. Clean bathhouses were nice. Wood was for sale by camp host at 50 cents a piece. Campground sits on the edge of Lake Oneida with a nice camper’s beach and trail on the lake front. We stayed at site 11. As you can see sites are spacious and this one was right on the lake’s edge.

We loved this primitive tent camping spot. All sites were nestled in the woods along the edge of the lake. Each site had a fire ring & tent landing. It was near parking, but all gear had to be carried into the woods. These were not pull in campsites. Shower house was a decent walk. Maybe at 1/4 mile? Water spigots were dotted throughout the woods, but not at every site.

The primitive tent camping is located in a grove of beautiful, mature trees. Fire rings & picnic tables are dotted throughout the trees. There is a highway right beside the campsite so you will best cars, but it is not a high traffic area.

Ferguson is two miles into the back country at Mammoth Cave. The last half mile, trail to campsite only, is a bit thick with a stream crossing. At 1.5 miles you’ll hit a nice spot where two streams come together. That’s your water source so load up before the last half mile. Ferguson is extremely secluded, nice tent landing, fire ring and trees for hammocking. Permits are required for all Mammoth Cave Backcountry sites, they can be obtained at the Visitor’s Center.
