Despite the bad reviews

We had a great camp spot! We stayed 2 nights and it was actually the more secluded camp site. I do see however that there are definitely cramped camping sites. The staff were friendly and there were flushable toilets. The location was so great because it’s just right above Jim Thorpe!

Best campground I’ve been to

This will be my fourth time camping and this is by far the best one! For starters everyone is friendly. They have very clean bathrooms and showers (.50¢ per minute). Firewood and Ice for sale. Electric plug ins if needed (bathroom and beside of ice and firewood with benches) The tent sites are so spacious and clean. There’s a hiking trail beside of 37 and it’s steep going down and up but well worth it. It takes you out to the gorge and to the visitors center. I recommend eating at the snack bar! Their food is so good and the gift shop has so many options. MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE A TABLE at the public house because they don’t allow walk ins after a certain hour. If you’re looking for different places to eat, go to white river junction. Lots of options! Overall an amazing campground!!

CAMPERS BEWARE

This is a very beautiful campground!! Very peaceful and the staff are very friendly. We stayed at Blue Jay tent site 3. The reason for the warning is that if you visit Campbell falls, BEWARE it is extremely slippery. The brown algae makes it very slick and no shoe will handle it. There’s no real entrance to the water to swim. We literally had to slide down like a water slide haha. But when we got down there the water was freezing cold and we had to get out which was very very difficult. There is only a STEEP bank. This is the same way for Mash Creek Falls, the rocks are extremely slippery. Ankle breaker rocks. Make sure to come early also to visit the mash fork creek campground office to get your firewood! The nearest store is very far. We had to go all the way to Tractor supply in Beckley because we came too late. Also visit the marsh creek bathrooms for showers! Like I said it’s gorgeous here and especially when it’s a breezy day. The walk down to the creek behind our campsite is very easy and only a few steps. Have fun!!
