I pulled in after dark. Found it quite easy to navigate the park & find a spot for the night. Woke to a beautiful view of the lake. Very easy access off the road and still quiet, fire pits & picnic tables. A very lovely place.
I’d like to say this spot is beautiful, but I’ve seen better. Rifle season starts Nov 20. I’m 10 days early, and was a bit surprised just how many hunters are already here. I feel like I’m the only solo woman here, also seem to be the only Van lifer. Lots of RVs. The camp was pretty easy to find. There are fire pits, mine is full of garbage. The spots are pretty spacious but there’s no privacy. I won’t be staying here long.
The campground itself was gorgeous, well maintained and spacious. (Tent) Camping there was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I pick rustic campgrounds for a reason. This one was full of RVs & 5th wheels all running on generators. There is no peace here. If you’re looking for quiet- it’s quieter at home than this place. Trying to sleep with an entire campground humming to the sounds of motors running all night was impossible. Ppl leaving their generators running even when they weren’t there. I would love to revisit this campground, but I won’t.
Extremely rustic campground. Only 10 sites available on first come first served basis. Set a few miles off the beaten path, a great spot for fishing, kayaking, canoeing & swimming. No cell service available. Ross Lake is beautiful. There is pump water & toilets available. My favorite thing about this campground was listening to the haunting loon songs over the lake at night. I will definitely go back. The lake is set right between Munising & Grand Marais.
Very busy campground. Sites were small & packed close together. Extremely clean & family friendly. Has very nice hiking trails with views of the Mackinac Bridge. The campground is separated into 2 sections, I had a spot in the upper area. Campground was extremely full. Definitely want to make a reservation before you go.
Nice family campground right on the lake. If you like to bring your boat while you camp, this is the place for you! Beautiful lake 1 mile from Rockport State Park. There are many parks to explore in the area. Great spot near Lake Huron. I had a rustic spot right on the lake. It was next to the boat launch which made it quite busy, but overall a great site. Boaters were very respectful & was decently quiet for all of the activity at the site.
