Rustic and wild

Tellico has a variety of camping options ranging from cabins that can be rented, to primitive camping with no running water, except the river. There is a camping store close to the cabins, and there are also RV sites. The North River area is more rustic and requires you to bring your shelter and supplies. There is a plethora of wildlife in the area, including some very curious black bears, so be prepared to store your food away so as to not attract their attention. The river is cold even on the hottest summer days, and can be a nice relief from the heat. Fishing requires a special permit, and there is a hatchery onsite that visitors can tour. There are hiking trails galore, and Bald River Falls is the perfect place for a family picture, or a even a selfie.

A lot of activities, very convenient

Just outside of Chattanooga TN, this campground has it all! Hiking, biking, a playground for the kids, water sports, a marina, an Olympic sized swimming pool, an excellent dockside restaurant, another dockside restaurant that specializes in Mexican food less than 3 miles away, an 18 hole golf course that's part of the Bear Trace, and there's always some kind of activity going on. Star gazing with the Bernard Astrological Society, trick or treating for Halloween, and many more activities, year round! The rangers are friendly, even the local wildlife is friendly and unobtrusive. You can find what you need in the onsite camping store, or at a grocery store 6 miles away, on Highway 58. There are electrical hookups, well maintained bath houses and a dumping station on site as well. I highly recommend this beautiful state park.
