The area is beautiful, but the campground is not wooded. It was cleared, some landscaped trees but not enough, grassy areas and paved areas. The campground is surround by woods. The beach is not easily walkable from the campground, 3 mile walk on a muddy overgrown path, then on the street with no sidewalk. Beach is beautiful, very calm, warm water for early July, soft sand and nice large trees for shade.
This was just a stop over for us, but we were disappointed there was nothing to do. The ground were well kept, but not enough trees for us. The bathrooms were clean too that’s about it.
Many pine trees throughout campground provide excellent shade and pine needles on the ground. Very crowed (holiday week), but it’s been fun with all the families. Very friendly guests and staff. Homemade ice cream truck comes through each evening. Only two negatives: most expensive ($90 per night) and the walk to the beach is almost 2 miles (not 1 like staff and website stated).
Just stopped for one night, small kids playground, friendly staff, very quiet (except birds chirping in the morning). Friendly seasonal guest helped us with our campfire. We heard the lake was full of mercury and not to go swimming there, but since it was a quick stopover for us we didn’t see the lake.
Nice camp ground, $30/night, quiet, good quick stop over.
