About 15 minutes in blacktop off of 20. $15/night for electric(20/30/50 Amp) & real toilets and showers. I bet this place is nice on a clear night. We were there when it was smokey from the fires in Western Oregon.
They allow you to run a tab at the store.. They also have a very good (compared to any camp store I've been in) selection of beer/cider/wine…. And ice cream
People were all great and facilities are well maintained.
Will Def stay there again
If you like the sound of train horns ALL night long, and very spotty wifi.. (routers keep having to be rebooted!) … This might be a good place for you.
Be sure to try air your gieviences with Cathy in the office…
She'll let you know exactly what a good network setup should be.
Acted like she was a certified network engineer from the way she was trying to explain that too many people streaming at 8am in the morning must be the reason the one router I can connect to from the back of the park keeps losing internet connection (not goes down, because you can still connect to the router… Just can't get internet through it!)
If it were not for the nice dog park and clean bathrooms, this would have gotten no stars if possible.
I stay at KOAs almost every week… (full timer)… Never again here (and I've stayed at KOAs in some dodgy areas!)
Most of the sites are along the river. New power and water to the sites, and it looks like they are under construction on the motel part. Bathrooms are so so..assuming they will get to those after the motel repairs… Probably new owners.
End of season… Pool was closed but it was hot as hell (9/3/2019). WiFi is good if you're in the right spot. We had a great spot for camping, but bad for wifi. Bathrooms were amazing. Pulled my review from a 3+ to a 5! Private baths like at home. Toilet, sink and shower all to yourself and CLEAN!
Good WiFi. Clean facilities. 10 min from everything. We chose this vs the National Park just down the road because of showers for a few $ more… Also, no cell signal at the park, but here it was fine. Great food and beverages in Hot Springs
Water access from stairs going to the lake. Clean enough bathrooms, as you would expect to find at a state park. Sites are roomy, with very nice concrete firepits and normal picnic tables. Just spent one night there and I'd do it again.
Great proximity to Madison. DeForest is a great little town with a nice array of restaurants.
The Campground is well maintained and the people are very friendly.
Bathrooms are always clean and there is a microwave, fridge, hot plate and dish washing station in the pavilion at the playground.
There is also a dog run where pooches can play off-leash.
WiFi was OK. They have wifi across the park, but it would just drop in signal strength occasionally.. Obviously speed is based on the concurrent usage, but signal strength should not vary like that.
It was raining the night we stayed. Bathrooms are centrally located, but I was surprised how few stalls there were in the men's bathroom.. There were 2 in the facility that served at least 60 sites. They bathrooms were clean, and shower water was hot, but waiting to poop in the morning is never fun. Very dog friendly, and a bunch of young families due to all the activities offered for kids. WiFi was very spotty, probably due to all the kids and bad weather.
This place was amazing. Very nice facilities. The only thing I can complain about is the wifi. With all the amazing stuff they have going on, they cheaped out on the wifi… Ver spotty, even close to thw club house.
We were in a tent spot with power, on a somewhat level pad, with a great view of the lake. There were few people there. As with most municipal parks (my experience), facilities are mediocre. It was long walk to the bathroom, and the showers were hot, but not very private. Personnel were very friendly. It was raining, so didn't get to take advantage of all they have to offer. City wifi was free, reliable, but slow from our site.
We stayed in a tent spot… Had shade and a nice concrete pad to park on. Good clean power. Clean bathrooms and pool looked like it was taken care of.
Tent spots have Charcoal grills, table and benches, and a nice metal cover to sit under if it rains.
It's not in the prettiest location, very industrial and the train tracks run close. First night one came through blowing its horns around 5am.
Spent the day in Forest park, a much prettier place to park and explore.
