Great camping spot, and the views are amazing! The road leading in is about 20 miles so make sure you have everything you need, but if not there is a town about 40 minutes away. We stayed here at the very beginning of October. It was 80 during the day and 40s at night, so dress accordingly. Sites are first come first serve and free!
There are 15 marked/designated sites at the base of the mountain and 23 more additional sites along the road up the mountain.
The road up the mountain is very bumpy and rough… many people are saying 4 wheel drive is a must - both our Jeeps made it up fine in 2 wheel drive, but probably doesn’t hurt to have 4 wheel drive just in case. If you have a low profile vehicle it might be a little challenging to navigate.
The sites are spread out enough to where you’re not right on top of other campers, and the views are absolutely amazing!! Highly recommend if you’re up to the drive!
