Was not clearly marked, if at all that these campsites are a 2 mile hike from parking. Would have packed differently had we known! Once we got over the shock and set up, it ended up being one of the most peaceful and scenic sites that I have ever been to. There is no immediate water access but plenty of hiking trails that led to beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes.
Seemingly well maintained. Booked this site based on photos prior to the devastation from hurricane Matthew in 2016. Our site, and many others had no privacy or shade. With that being said, it is still a beautiful beach and there are Still quite a few sites that maintained its lush surroundings. Cannot beat the beach access! Would book again, just not this particular site. Left one day early.
Easy to camp. I’ve stayed here in summer and winter months. Site 18 had great water access. Beach is made of clay so be sure to wear shoes unless you don’t mind red feet. Spacious pad for gear.
Tent camped here at Twin Lakes in June 2018. Very private (site 12) and beautiful view of Lake Hartwell. Staff was friendly and bathrooms/showers were clean.
