The campsites are new. Clean. A little close together but very pretty. Lake manawa is a nice lake, dream park is a fun playground for kids!
Only stayed one night, it was really well located. The views were beautiful. It was really close to all the cutest shopping spots.
If you’re like me and scared to tow within the mountains it was not scary driving at all. Besides getting through city Denver driving. That’s coming from Nebraska.
While the spots were really tight, they were clean and our neighbors were friendly. The black water hoses are right next to the neighbor’s picnic tables at our pull through spot, so waited to hook up and empty vs being hooked up at all times. It was an easy check in. Spots looked easy to back into but I paid for a pull through. The community fire pits looked nice. Activities looked clean. Wasn’t super active but stayed on a Sunday night.
Passed some pretty sketchy looking sites on the way to this one so was incredibly relieved to be staying here.
I arrived late last night to chimney rock completely lit up. Very beautiful. Spots are fairly small but quiet. Frequent train, if that bothers you. Nice easy to hook up and pull through spot.
The lady running the entrance here when I went is extremely nice! Made me want to come back! I was also relieved the park was well located and didn’t require any scary driving since it was my first big trip with a trailer. Getting through Denver was about the worst of it, and that wasn’t so bad.
It was not super full when I was there, but then filled up on my last night probably due to bad weather in Nebraska. The park was clean, felt super secure, and the spots were spacious. The hookups and water spigots were well located. Easy to access and park in. If you’re seeing a show at red rocks, like I was, it’s amazingly located. I imagine if there weren’t a fire ban it would be a more fun, social experience with other people staying there to go to the same show.
Edit: returned in October and even more beautiful, quiet, and lovely. Will always return here.
This is a very clean, lovely camp ground. The spots are spacious, and there are tons of options. In the fall we went and had no neighbors. It’s busy in summer, but well kept. They had people cleaning the bathrooms constantly (my mom kept pointing out, in awe, that it was “practically hourly”) which was great for tent camping with a large group! It’s quiet, beautiful lake, great boating, great swim spot, fun park for kids. Beautiful trees and hiking especially in the fall.
I’m biased because I live in Omaha but the camp grounds are clean. The place has rock climbing, horseback riding, Paddleboating, zip lines, pottery and more. I love to go in the winter (cabin) to go sledding and ice skating. Just a family friendly, fun place. Tons of places to picnic and have family reunions and more.
