Return visit

Great experience. Host very nice. Bathrooms clean. Still a lot of firewood available. We biked around the lake (little less than 4 miles), would be a good easy hike with kids.

Quiet lake

We camped in the group site next to the lake.  It is a fairly steep hike to the water.  The trail head is at the camp site, but if you like people, that is ok.  Clean bathroom.  Water was beautiful!  As of June 26, 2022 there is tons of firewood stacked in the campground from a pine beetle infestation.  I drive from HWY 395 on Forest Service road 10. 27 miles on dirt road.  The first 3/4 mile was terrible, by the rest was great traveling.

Boondocking friendly

Crater Lake was full. Gal at lodge recommended the snow park parking lot. Bathrooms available. Motion sensor lights at signs and bathrooms.

Lots of elk!

We reserved the last site in the campground. It was great. Bathrooms were a little far away, but there was plenty of room. 4 family shower rooms. You can get creek side spots just below us. Hiked from camp. Saw elk in the prairie. Like someone else said, close to Fern Canyon.

Well taken care of.

This place has beautiful green grass, next to the river. The bathroom and showers are very nice. It was a little loud next to the Homedale Airport and a lumber mill. The employees are super nice.
