Always busy…now a reservation site. Some sites around the edges or at the end of loops have some space between you and your neighbors, many in the middle are much closer together. We prefer to find dispersed camping in Jemez now that the designated campgrounds are generally so busy.
Some sites sit right on the creek. Sites are spread out along a dirt road, so many sites are secluded from neighbors. Both times we have visited we have cleaned up sites after previous visitors left trash everywhere. Seems to be a common problem, which is too bad because it is a pretty place and convenient to the large rock climbing area nearby.
There are some sites at the far end away from the road which are more secluded, but most in the center are packed in pretty tight so if you have a neighbor (which on holiday weekends you will for sure) it's not a remote camping experience.
Restrooms are usually pretty stinky even early in the season!
We got a creekside site that was secluded and gorgeous. The restrooms may be the cleanest campsite restrooms I have ever seen! Nearby reservoir and trailheads made for an amazing trip.
