I have never had any issues or problems. It is just a very busy park, and yes there are mosquitoes, so be prepared. It is close to town, and activities which is great.
Salmonberry is our Memorial Day weekend go to. It is a small quiet campground that is just relaxing. Not really close to anything, but they still have power hook ups, but no water, so make sure you fill up your tanks before you get there. I would give Salmonberry 5 stars, but you have to pay for showers, and if you take a shower at night you need to be fast. The lights are on time sensors, and shut off on me and would not come back on. I at least had a flashlight.
Sutton is probably in our top 2 or 3 campgrounds. We get the group site which is the D loop, and it has a sand hill in that loop, so it is fantastic for the kids. Close to Florence for the activities (Car Shows, Rhododendron Festival, City wide garage sale to name a few). The campground in clean and quiet.
This campground is old and almost completely outdated. With newer bigger trailers it is verry tight to get into your spot. Camp spot dont drain so when it rains your campsite can become unusable because it has standing water so much so that you can't even build a fire. We did go in late spring so we figured it would be wet, but not 3 inches of standing water.
We have been to Tugman a few times, but this most recent trip was Father's Day weekend. Several local activities, but we went for the Chainsaw Festival.
Tugman is a nice, clean, and quiet campground. Park staff was actually being very proactive in making sure park rules were followed, and helpful if we had any questions. They even came by in the morning offering to collect our garbage, and dispose of it for us. Bathrooms and Showers were all clean and water was hot.
We will plan another trip soon.
