About 10 spots off the main road in to Black Canyon.
Dispersed and a great hike to Browns Creek. The farther you drive in the rpigjer the road but still doable. 14ers in view, Mt Princeton and Mt Shivano
reserve early during fall colors. also try and get a creekside spot. perfect location to visit Marvle and Crystal Mill
This is a privately owned spot with many amenities for campers and also sand board rentals for the Dunes. We have only camped in the dispersed area. In season there is a rail car for bathrooms in the dispersed area, otherwise you'll need to use the facilities where the RV's park. IT is quiet but the camp spots can be close together. both times we have been here, we had deer walk thru our site. You also have great views of the dunes in most spots and the 14ers near Crestone.
This is a good spot to stop overnight if your destination is further south on 285. The best part about this section is the creek next to the road. All the spots on the lower part of Marshall Pass are pull offs on the road. I imagine this can get busy in the peak summer time. Was quiet and the only traffic was in the morning.
This was a close 1 night get away spot. Pretty area, the sites we saw were numbered. The only disappointing thing was right before dusk was about an hour of shooting, constant and annoying. After dark, very quiet even though it was close to the road. Nederland is close enough to run into town if needed.
This is a primitive site with many fire rings and stunning views of Twin Lakes and the surrounding 14ers. There is no official road to pull off, you will just pull of the paved road and follow the dirt path and look for a spot, You can camp in the open or in the trees. You can maneuver a small pop up or off road camper likes ours to most of the spots.
This is not in Lakeview Campground but up the road towards the reservoir.
