For a camping resort, this was top notch

We’re typically state park campers, but decided to stay 2 nights at a resort campground to recharge and be close to the beach. We had a great experience! Awesome amenities, close to the beach (they offer a shuttle too) and great pool. The kids didn’t want to leave! We were surprised by the amount of French speaking campers from Quebec! We loved the diversity it brought.

Great campground with some drawbacks

Great pull through sites for trailers, privacy and clean bathrooms. Bummer that they don’t have showers and excessive generator use due to no hookups.

A gem of the white mountains

We were pleasantly surprised by this campground, booking 3 nights sight unseen. You could hear the river babbling at night and had incredible views of Frankenstein Cliffs as you walked to the wash house. Very private sites, clean bathrooms and coin operated showers ($0.25 for 3 minutes) and laundry. We base camped out of here and explored nearby trails, as well as Mt. Washington.

Great Little Campground

Beautifully wooded with hemlocks right off of 86 (a bit too close). Sites are spaced out, but little privacy. Luckily I had a water bandit, as the water spigot does not have threads for a hose. Very clean facilities. Quick drive to all the stuff to do in Lake Placid.

Quiet, clean and close to Shenandoah NP

We spent one night in one of the RV sites. Very level site with a great gravel pad. Water hookups were a PLUS! Bathrooms were clean. Nice walk down to the river. Just a short stay as a home base.

Hidden Gem

We absolutely love this campground! It's well kept, low key and super relaxing. The small park has plenty to offer with the lake (swimming, paddling and fishing) and trails (hiking, running and biking). We come here a couple of times per year! Bathhouse is extremely clean with great water pressure. Only downside…only a spigot to wash dishes.

Peaceful Primitive Camping

This place is a gem! Nice wide open site. Unfortunately, someone moved our picnic table to the next site. Too lazy to move it. Pit toilets were pretty clean. Stream was incredible and lively with trout and crayfish. So quiet and very little traffic. Tons of space between sites. Water and dump station is 10 minutes up the road at New Germany State Park.
