A Nice Place to Stay

Alder Dune is just a little ways down from the 101 tucked next to Alder Lake. There are beautiful paths that walk around the grounds and lake. If you take the proper path you will find yourself in some sandy dunes surrounded by the trees. The sites themselves are clean and have a good amount of privacy. The only downside is that the highway could be heard fairly well, but nothing to really complain about.

Beach Access

This site is just off the 101 and right next to a beautiful stretch of beach. Though you can't see the ocean from most of the campsites, the ocean makes its presence known by filling your ears with its lovely crashing waves. The site has very clean bathrooms with flushing toilets. Lots of vegetation surround most of the sites as well. Some aren't as private as others, but that's to be expected. Very popular site, mostly or completely full even on weekdays.

Super quiet, shaded and clean

This is a nice, quiet, and secluded feeling campsite. Though it’s near the 242, the road is not busy. Mostly used by bicycles and during a good chunk of the year there’s a snow gate blocking further up. Shade throughout the day, whispering rapids through the bushes, beautiful sky at night. I wish that there was a little more access to hang around the water, but otherwise it’s a great site. Campsite 10 is tucked away from the others and a short walk to the restrooms, which are just pit toilets. If you fancy going for a short drive further east down the 242 you’ll find the Proxy Falls Trailhead. Great short hike to two gorgeous waterfalls.
