We stayed in the rustic sites as the modern ones were closed for the season.
You are literally camping with everyone near you. We were lucky that hardly anyone was there. You are right next to the highway so all night you hear cars and headlights come into your tent. Interlochen is a beautiful place- I would visit it- but stay on the modern side that is more off of the road.
Overall nice well maintained campground.
You can see the bridge and are witin 5 minutes of the ferry to Mackinc Island.
The bathrooms and showers are nice- be careful the shower head came off on one and the water pressure was intense!
I enjoy that many of the sites are wooded, even though you are nearby other campers you don't feel completely overcroweded.
Nice place to stay if you are enjoying St. Ignance or Mackinac Island.
Hocking Hills park is beautiful- definitely a great place for the hikers!
We stayed at the walk in sites- I will not go again. It is a pretty far walk to get to some sites, I understand they have vaulted toilets- some of the doors wouldnt close properly and the smell was worse than other vault toilets.
Our site was completely flooded from the rain with standing water. Luckily there was another one open so we were able to set up there.
The staff was friendly and great.
If you go to hocking hills don't stay at the walk in sites- I would suggest another campground in the area.
I found this campground to be more camper friendly than tent friendly.
It is in a nice location close to several places.
Love that you can walk to the beach from your site.
Bathrooms are nice, they are far from some of the sites to walk to.
Sites are close together.
Overall I would recommend staying here.
very nice lake and beach
bathrooms and amenities are excellent
sites are close to each other, you can hear the other campers talking next to you
overall really enjoyed our stay
We love staying at D. H. Day campground. Make sure to arrive early as it is first come only. The sites are nestled in the woods with a great atmosphere. So nice to be able to walk to the beach of Lake Michigan from the campground. Very close to several attractions and quaint towns nearby. Would recommend anyone stay here!
